The massive Nauoi Megistoi fleet entered the Aegean only a few days before and had passed through the sea without opposition. Timon Adramyttiou Mysiakou, the conqueror of Aigyptos and the heir to the throne of the massive power that is Arche Seleukeia, looked out across the sea as the fleet passed by an island and noticed small fishing ships rushing away in fear of the massive poliremes. He thought to himself about his seeming invincibility in these ships, but also glad that with admiral Themistokles in command no force could harm them even if attacked.

Timon breathed deeply, taking the sea air into his lungs – what seemed to be all the way down to his feet – and spoke to the winds:

“The voyage from Antiocheia has been long, but the pothos of Seleukos will finally be fulfilled. If only he had destroyed the treacherous Ptolemaioi when the progenitor of that damned dynasty took Pheonicia after the fighting at Ipsos – he certainly had enough justification, but that has been rectified – or if the various rebellions that the late Antiochos had to quell upon the death of his father never occurred, we would be in control of Hellas already.

“In retrospect, I suppose none of that matters as none of it can be changed. The present, however, is a different matter. Tlepolemos should be on his way to Byzantion as I speak and his brother Euandros is fighting on Rhodos for control of that island; the mainland is a foregone conclusion.”

Soon the invasion force that was aboard the fleet would land at Athena and besiege the city wresting it from the control of the allied cities of Hellas.

“How ironic is it that a Persian will conquer Hellas? How further ironic is it that this Persian is fighting in the service of a Greek kingdom? How even further ironic is it that this Persian, who will conquer Hellas and is fighting for a Greek kingdom, is heir to all those lands?

"After all this I shall earn the name Epiphanes."

Timon

Ha! Well, so much for this. That hotfix came out a bit earlier than I thought it would so back to concentrating on Raphia, which is where my energies are better spent.
