P.S I think that adding the city of Carthage would take focus away from the Italic Peninsula, in any case Carthaginians would only be a half-faction without its African and Iberian cities. However, I wouldn't mind seeing the other half of Sardinia included, unless there was a specific reason it was left out of the mod.
the map is done, and to include carthage is impossible because of the "water mass"...

The inclusion of Carthage in her actual position is currently impossible, because it needs an enlargement of the map which currently already reached the maximum of "water mass" allowed by the game engine. We may make an attempt to include Carthage in the existing map in a generic position on the left border, just to have the capital of the Carthaginian dominion with her surrounding territory to recruit African units and give money and resources. But the real matter is if we have to maintain the focus of the game in Italy or allow such a variation. Both the recruitment of the African units and the economic income from Africa may be a matter of script without the need to include Carthage in the map.

Couldn't Carthage and the connection to the rest of North-Africa be represented by a unique building complex, representing the money and troops available for Sicily? Of course, this complex should only work for the Carthaginians.
personally, i'm not in favour of it. However, Lylibeum will be the phoenician capital ingame and there will be several ways to implement via script the connection with carthage - request of troops, sending of troops, money, navy and so on.

The start date should be something between 338 BB and 333 BC (it depends upon the final setting we'll decide to use) and the end date in 222 BC. The mod runs rougly from the dissolution of the Latin League and the conquest of Mediolanium with the final defeat of the great Gallic coalition already crushed at Telamon

Yes, we are going to use the 4 turn per year script.
During the whole timeframe covered by our mod the Romans used the so called "Camillian legion", the first one to adopt the manipular formation. It seems that the "Polybian legion" entered in use during the 2nd Punic War, so a bit later than the end date of our timeframe.
Some "late" units, for example some types of the Hellenistic era, will be recruitable by the Hellenic factions only after they had reached a certain degree of development via the constructions of some structures.

No, at present.
Epirus will be regarded as a "rebel" army and such an event like Pyrrus' invasion will be managed using a "spawning army" script.
Probably in the future we'll introduce some alternative campaigns using different settings for the playable factions, and in one of these campaigns Epirus may be a playable one.

Looking even better buys .. dare I say, it's looking more than a mod .. maybe a new stand alone game?
Still I don't see why the game cannot start pre 400BCE, to show players how Rome once used greek arms and tactics .. before the disaster and subsequent adoption of the best aspects of their neighbours military systems? Shouldn't require a major change to skins except adding Greek hoplites for Roman First class, triarii skins could be used for Second class?, 3-4th classes could use Accensi skins (levy spearmen)? 5th class would be light troops etc.
Or maybe the "Allia to Atlas" mod could come later? :)

A bit late, but I have to say those units are beautiful, and the descriptions fascinating. This mod promises to shed light on Italy beyond what we all know about Rome, and that I must praise.

Yes, the Insubres, Cenomani, Boii and Senones, the main Italian Gaul factions, have chariot units.
Also the Veneti of north-eastern Italy have chariots too.
We gave chariots also to some faction of the central Italy, like the Etruscans, the Umbrians and the Sabines (those nations in the timeframe covered by our mod shared a common culture referred as the Etrusco-Italic "Koiné") but only to the general's guard, because the chariot was porbably still retained only as a "status symbol" of the leaders.

Yeah, this news was published some time ago on TWC. Let us hold our fists for them to make a decent game!
As for PI going into that way I'm personally totally into it as of now I'm finishing my student status and haven't got a permanent job yet. Mylae is a student to so I guess he could be also included. The problem is with Luciano and SigniferOne since they both have a job - making a new game demands 100 % time reserved only for that project, atleast by my opinion. I don't know the status of others in our team.
I am interested so if there are any propositions I'm listening... :yes:
With the world economy going globalised, having mulitple income sources is very wise .. PI might provide that, although finding a market for such a specialised game might be difficult ...hmm, unless you advertise in Italy? :idea2:

This Mod needs to be updated as offten as EB..with new content..bug fixs..a bata only relise just won't do:no: What i mean is some mods just do that after so long then stop supporting the game and leave it like that..buggy and hardly playable..
If you are looking for animatians for hoplites id sugest asking the EB Team to use there classic greek hoplite animatian its perfect for then and this mod..I cannot stand the thought of not one more Mod useing the old RTW phalanx formatian unless there useing pikes.
Wonder buildings like EB that have historicl signifgance in a few settlements that give moral bonus or law etc..
If some mods are not intersted anymore or active recurt newones who can give full attentian the total war center is full of unemployed mods looking for mods to work on..this mod is gonna be great so long as the team dosent become satified with just releseing a beta and stopping after that..

-My whole point of my post was This..Please Do not Release a game and becouse it took you so long to make it and with so few people then give up leaveing a buggy bata..Ive seen this happen so many times..

-Slingers thats easy to understand..Slingers where more wide spread then archers and more useful then the europian bow and much more powerful..I see alot of bow units but only a few that have slingers..

Well thank you guys, it's been a while since we posted here! Our main activity can be seen on RTC forums where you can see our progress made on M2TW engine.
RTW version of the mod was idle for some time but now Luciano started to continue work on it. Probably we will have M2TW and RTW versions both come out for you fans to try. Pretty awesome right!? :2thumbsup:
And to answer Bacchus, Rorarii is making a mod that covers early era Rome period but haven't spotted any mod that would have such a long time span - it's hard to present such a long time without inconsistencies, agme engine only allows that much...

It is out, and they have started on PI2 for Medieval 2.
