I'm using BI.exe to run EB, and I thought it was suippose to make the AI more agressive?

Right now, I'm at 250 BCE, and Swezbo, Pontus, Epieros are all unagressive. They each have only 1 city - only 1.
I checked the chart, and the city/fiance/millitary chart is literally a straight horizontal line.
In my EB with RTW.exe game, Swezbo had around 6-7 cities, Pontus got wiped out when they attacked Seleucid, and Epieros had about 5-6 settlements.

Also, in my BI-EB campaign, Carthage hasn't conquered a single province by 250 BCE while in my RTW-BI, Carthage ususally conquered 3-4 settlements.

Help plz.

It is somewhat random. Even with BI, you will get stagnate factions. Just bad luck on that campaign, I guess.

It helps to use the console to give them more Money.
Just start the game, activate the EB script when it prompts you to, end turn, open the console(press ~), then press the up arrow key to scroll through commands from the script until you see "add_money slave, 2200", simply change "slave," to "germans," or "pontus,"(Saka in EB) or "Egypt".(Carthage in EB)
This helped alot in my Casse campaign with keeping the underdogs alive. Now Pontos is battling Egypt for control of Asia minor, while Heyasdan(sp?) is taking the Black sea coast, and Lusotann kicks Carthage out of Spain. Money makes the world go round as they say! :logic:

As one of those writers of Antiquity observed, "they have gold and silver in abundance, and those make war, as other things, go smoothly." :beam:

hmm, this isn't working. When I try to type in "add_money Carthage/ Germans/Romans/etc, 100000" it says faction unrecognizable. After I end a turn, what I previously typed appears when I use the arrow key. When I press enter a prerecorded script, it says nothing, so I assumed it worked. But when I checked the finance charts, it didn't show the faction getting any money.

Do you have a link to detailed instructions on this?

btw, are these for RTW vanilla or EB? Cuz you said Carthage = Egypt?
Do I type in the "EB" names or the regular RTW names? Cuz I think I tried them both "Sweboz"/"German"/"Germany"/Germans" etc and it still didn't work...

He meant some factions aren't actually those factions, so in order to give money to Kart-hadast you have to type in

add_money egypt 50000

this still doesn't work...is it because I'm using BI.exe? It doesn't work for BI?

I'm doing the following:

1. end turn
2. type in "add_money germans, 100000"

-and it doesn't say error but it doesn't go anything

Thats because you need to do it over and over again to make a difference. I.e when your console looks like this:

add_money germans, 100000
add_money germans, 100000
add_money germans, 100000
add_money germans, 100000
add_money germans, 100000
add_money germans, 100000
add_money germans, 100000
add_money germans, 100000
add_money germans, 100000
add_money germans, 100000
add_money germans, 100000
add_money germans, 100000
add_money germans, 100000
add_money germans, 100000

Also, you can take money away from factions aswell. Just put a minus("-") sign infront of the number like so: "add_money romans_julii, -10000".
FYI these are more long term changes than short term, so don't expect the Sweboz to suddenly build three huge stacks and go after Getai. It takes time.:smash:

^ So does that code mean the Germans will be given 100k 14 times?
14 * 100000= ...?
As in given 100k once every turn for 14 turns?

Or is it just like a repetition, and the Germans will be given 100k only once?

so the above command would give them 1,400,000 denrii...?

MarcusAureliusAntoninus

Actually it would give them 560,000 mnai.
"add_money" with anything 40,000 or higher, will give 40,000.

Is there supposed to be a comma after the "germans" ?

Ah. Outta curiosity, isn't that the exact same syntax export_descr_buildings.txt uses then ?

It seems like it takes until about 240 for the AI to really pick up steam in my experience. Most of the AIs were atleast somewhat passive until then. For example, I've been at war over the past 10 years with all the western greeks at some point or another and Carthage has begun trying to reconquer Sardinia(currently at a stalemate until some Baeleric slinger mercs pop up).

Are ya kidding me? Cuz I just gave Carthage, Germany, Britons, and Averni around 400,000-800,000 in
money EACH. damn, this is gonna suck for me later on...lol

Well, in my games it seems to pick up in the Western Mediterranian around that time. Lustania is slowly expanding, Carthages hates me(Rome), Aedui and Avernii are fighting endless big battles where no one gains the upper hand.

If you really want guarrenteed action, go play the KH, Saba, or the Maks. They're sandwiched between everything.
