As a number of people had wanted 0 turn recruitment during that debate years ago, I have edited the EDU to such:

Levies/Core - 0 turn
Most of the units fall into this category.

Rare - 1 turn
Includes more uncommon, but not elite units, including slingers.

Elite - 2 turns
All the Palace/Royal/Imperial guards, including elephants.

Please give some feedback especially since there should be inconsistencies somewhere, and also because I was unsure what number of turns I should have given to some units.

Bug fixes in v0.1a:
-Equites Romani/Equites Consulares changed from 0 turns to 2
-Roman Accensi changed from 0 turns to 1

Note that this has not been balanced nor tested extensively against the bonuses that the computer-controlled factions received. It is possible that you get avalanched by full stacks every turn, especially since the computer would not run out of money, to the point where they depopulate all their cities.
I would be looking at the possibility of editing the amount of aid the computer gets through the script in later versions.
