Heres leaked patch. Thing works online normaly, but you must be carefull when you install it. Patch must be installed over vanila 1.0 game, becouse if you install it over 1.1 you will get some serious problems.
It apears click behind bug is fixed, other than that is basicly the same, with spears being now actually usefull against horses and that two handers now work. I'm still to check if there is any improvement in lag-performance at 3v3 and 4v4.

Not only that it may not be a good idea as the new official patch may not be compatible with it or it may cause some kind of error. There must be a good reason they withdrew it.
Reason is that installer is borked :laugh4:

nobody has tried tried to play multiplayer using the leaked patch yet?
I did a 3vs3 with some Celtiberos and two Chaos members, no lag at all, games a 1000 times better than it was before, infantry is actually useful, really changes the stlye that you play.

We don't know when - the patch is being reworked as it did not fully eradicate the sally passive AI bug.

As Ive mentioned in another thread, whats needed here are seperate patches for sp and mp. In mp who the heck cares how the AI behaves? The needs of the two communities are very different in many instances. Release the damn patch for us at least then. Many of us never play sp. If its safe I then suggest the whole mp community get together and dl this leaked patch if it works as has been claimed here.
PS If you just copy the folder and locate it somewhere else would it work like it did with MTW? I mean can I have two copies of MTW2 with different patches? One for sp and one for mp?

I have a question, and it is sensible unlike other ones I may ask here, does the 1.2 come with the expansion (like 1.3 did with BI) as with download limits, and the fact I dont play m2 much (prefer rome) it might be easier.

Annnnnnyways, I don't even know what a passive AI is, but the ai is terrible and always will be, cut their losses and just release the dam patch and hotfix this thing later or include it in 1.3.
There is a saying in the mp community thanks to a certain bro member, it goes along the lines of "fix gs"...its only a matter of time before "fix ca" gets popularized tbh.

Guys we have been playing with the "leaked" patch since it has come out and I have to admit it delivers what it promised. The most irritating bugs (2ha and shiled bug) seem to be corrected, the speed of the game is also slower (at least for me) and it somehow seems more realistic.
Not many people have the leaked patch and so playing games mp is rather patchy (sic). As far as I can tell, it works fine and I wish more people could get on board so we can start playing more games!

1 vs 1 games can still take half and hour as it is, Rome hit the nail on the head, games went at the speed of the attacker!!!

AFAIK, it's effectively a +8 to defence, as the shield bug meant a shield stat of 4 used to be subtracted from the defence. The game speed in the battles is pretty good now. Both knights (who also have shields early on) and spears are more robust, so you don't tend to get those "blink and you'll miss it" wipe-outs that could happen before.
So... so...
are we still waiting for the patch 1.2?

This patch was meant to be out so so long ago.
Unfortunatlly like many i've lost faith in CA and like so many before me my total war days are over. Good look to those of you sticking it out. I hope you actually get somethign out of it.

Thats just why I don't bother joining any clans since VI. I just play the game untill I get bored with it, then maybe come back to look hows with addon or some patch, and I'm off again.

it seems all of us mp critics are in the minority. heres a comment i found on the .com.
[Well in MP M2TW is pretty damn good in my opinion... and in the opinions of the rest of my clan and the other clans who we play against....

Unfortunately they take the same like minded view. We still play other games and talk to each other regularly together but as a total war clan we are basically disbanded even though it upsets me to say.

Did you have to set that up ahead of time? I was curious and checked to see if anyone was hosting any games with the 1.02 patch but, unsurprisingly, I didn't find any.

I suggest you look more often.

Hmmm...I will have to try more often, then. Although depending on what time zone they're in, they might be asleep when I'm playing.
Checked again tonight, there were people from the Celtiberos clan playing 1.2, but it seemed they were playing a modded map (when I scrolled my mouse over the game, it said that it was version 1.2, but the map didn't match mine). Ah well, back to my SP Russian game! I gather the MP is a bit too competitive for me anyway. I tend to play war games multiplayerr mostly just for fun. :surrender2:
