Ninja\'s

I have the Samurai swords board game version of this game (game master series) and I altered the ninjas to make them a little more useful. Not only were the ninja's able to assassinate but they could also commit arson(either destroy a building or reduce it), or attack koku production (crops) so as to reduce income. Last but not least they were able to talk provinces into "betraying" their leige to come over to the side of whomever hired the ninja, which you seem to have accomplished w/ the bribery of armies. As much as I love the battles I wish that the campaign game was a little more involved. Oh well just thought I would share an idea or two. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

From what I've seen of the Crusaders previews that will be a major change. Much more interest and complexity in the campaign game.

In the UK PC Gamer preview they talk about appointable regional governers with their own vices and virtues, some corrupt but maybe the locals love them so there is not much you can do but watch him debauch away your money, others may have darker habits which will inspire revolt should your people ever find out. I think the idea was you'd know about these thing on some level as you made appointments and such, but the promise of a great agricultural reformist might be too good to miss out on, even if you knew of why he was he was defrocked.

and how about finding and killing shinobi? Yeah! I think ninja's should be able to commit arson as well as assassinate generals, emmisaries and why not shinobis? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Have you ever seen the kung fu flick 'Renegade Ninjas'? It's really bad but good to watch for that reason...perhaps the STW team will model a new ninja for upcoming patches and the like on those renegade ninjas?! I hope so!

They'll probably make a Ninja: Total War and charge us $20 for that, then a Romans: Total War, another $20, Napoleon: Total War that comes to $60 total now...lets see...oh yeah, Ninja Assassins expansion for Ninja: Total War. good idea! lets rake in the cash!

you'll have a single agent that acts in a multi-role task. place him in an enemy province and he'll get you info, place him in your own and he'll be shinobi-like in catching other agents and quelling discontent. place him over an enemy piece and he'll assassinate.
don't ask me how i know, just bookmark this thread and call me on it in the future.

there will be other agents, but this thread was about ninjas....

The assassin, in true Roman spirit, will be either your child, your wife or your mistress. Rarely would it be a collegue 'from work' or an agent from another 'state'...
