A perversion relative to boys would be a more "japanese/samurai" vice. Samurai were well known for their preference to manly love. Military life and campaigning laid the perfect conditions for that. A study of this is presented in the film "Gohatto" by legendery director Nagisa Oshima (The realm of the senses - Ai no corrida) starring Takeshi Kitano and Asano Tadanobu.

Women were treated with contempt in that department and love between men was regarded as higher in quality. Women were married on grounds of family necessity and social formality. However passions for women were also reported.

Tokugawa Ieyasu was one of the legends that had such intimate customs and he has been described as a "genius that couldn't control his sex life" the latter being dominated by young boys.

Many Thanks

I appreciate this and stand corrected.

Male love being a common part of the culture may worth basing a vice/virtue (or anything in between). Characters may take penalty due to their feelings and not due to social frown. For example jealousy was often developed and extreme actions were taken sometimes in the form of backstabbings/secret fauds/and even "searches" for duels during battle.
