Not the normal stuff but every country had a sort of music while going into battle to boost the morale of their men and strike fear in the hearts of enemies.
Would be cool if it was added to the game. Also fight loops should be a bit better this time.

Although not strictly MTW there was another rac of people at the time of the Romans who lived in present day Balkans.(yugo, croatia, bosnia)

They had wolfskins that were tied to long poles of sturdy wood. When these poles were held up in the air/wind, the win would flow through the wolf-skin and make a howling sound. Scared half of their enemies away. But not the Romans!(sadly http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif)

We are sort of doing this, but the problem is there's so many factions, I'd be writing the game music for the next couple of years.

So, we've gone with European Music and Arab Music to try and cover all of the bases. Obviously it's not perfect, but seems to work well for the most part.

The terrain and faction that you are playing define which style of music will be heard.

Like Shogun & Mongols, there are tension songs played during the deployment stage, then when you give your troops a destination, an appropriate mobilize song is played, which is supposed to give the feeling of impending battle. Finally, when troops start chopping and hacking, the battle song plays.
