I think it would be great to have a feature, that lets you join a battle as a "guest", you dont play, you just watch. (if the host allows it) So people like me could learn a lot of better players. What do you think?

this is good, but could seriously lag the game. Imagine 10 people as guests in the one game of 2v2. Thats 14 computers... i should think everyone would drop.

Maybe, but in other games this is possible. For example in some shooters, or as far as I know in counterstrike. Perhaps the Host should have the option to allow who he wants (password) or limit the number of "guests".

i think this is a great idea. . but limit the 'guests' to one or two. . ATM we have to just let some1 join a side then rout thier troops to be able to watch the games. . having a guest option would help . . http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

What about the ability to record an online battle and have it posted on the web. Good recorded battles will sure be fun to watch!

That would be sweet to join the middle of a battle.

We already have the ability to record battles and then post them on the web. The ORG hasnt said if they will post them though so we cant do it right now.

I agree totally with your idea of 1 or 2 guests JAG. The possibility at most could then be 10 people in one game. I reckon that would be all ADSL/cable users, and it would be damn amazing.

Dont get me wrong I do like the idea, but with such a massive 56k crowd (including myself) I just cannot see it working effectively enough for Activision to incorporate into the online gameplay.

you run the guests machines at about a 30 second lag (or whatever time takes your fancy) with all their information coming through the 'guest server' or first guest...but I think that would be a beast to program!

Konnichiwa,

A 2 vs 2 can already have 4 spectators.
Host a 4 vs 4 game, take 2 defenders, 2 attackers, 2 spectators in the def alliance, 2 in the attackers (so all 8 persons have equal amounts of koku). The spectators buy only 1 unit (a ycav for fast withdraw). As soon as the battle starts the spectators withdraw their 1 unit, and have a free camera to enjoy the show.

that is what i meant earlier when i sai . . we can atm but we have to rout a unit off. . it would save time to be able to have a guest mode . . and to use the current system of watching games u have to put alot of trust in the ppl who are watching/playing. .

I think they could keep the 8 people max per battle. But if its a 2 vs. 2 let there be 4 guests (if the players want spectators or as many as they want as long as there arent more than 8 guys in that particular game). That would be good for tourneys too, so you could have a judge in the game without the withdraw and strange setup thing.

THe idea of a judge is good. Saves people accusing others, and then an inquiry. Just hope there are enough judges per tourney to view all the matches or the tourney would have to be 4 months long or so.
