I will be adapting to the situation as much as possible (who, where, when). Things like season, type of terrain, who your adversary is, what units he has, what units i have, i am defending or attacking, will detremine the type of tactics used.

This said we all develop some kind of favorite tactic over time, but for me i will have to play the game extensively first.

As Kuma said you cannot just charge the enemy and win (everytime!) you need to be able to adapt to the terrain,season etc...

Creating gaps in the enemy line, then moving large amounts of units through the gaps usually works. Or have many high honor units hitting a weak spot in the enemy line, while your other units stay to the back for support.
