depends on what u mean by harder.

If you mean will the AI cheat even more on exp. level then who knows. But if you mean will the AI think more like a human player then I hope so.

I concur with the idea of trying to make the AI play more like a human. I don't like the uber-cheating robot approach to expert in Shogun to making the game "challenging" (or in Civ3 or any other similar game).

They've had over two years of watching how people play the game so hopefully it will be a great AI. The thing that I am hopeful about is the game is, one, being based very heavily on the existing engine which, if someone had the time and money to sit down and completely recode the AI at this point would be a nigh perfect game (and, that's what they're doing in essence for MTW). Two, the additions to the game aren't anything new to the industry as a whole. Other games have been down the path of strong diplomatic AIs and such. All that remains to see is how well they pull it all together.

Done right, it will be the turn-based-real-time-tactical game to kick every pure 4X TBS and RTS square in the ass leaving a deep boot print.

From an IGN preview "In Shogun, there were three different categories of tactical AI that the computer would run. This time around there'll be nine different AI scripts from which the computer can mix and match to give you a much more cerebral and tactically challenging battle."

Seems good, no?
