LOL Camel Charge! I hope the cavalry wedge does more damage than in STW because otherwise its flippin' useless.

Cav/Camel wedges do much more, just look at the newest screenshots. And MTW will have collision physics so units litterally smash into eachother, an added bonus for fast moving cavalry collisions.

SO... will a heavily armored amounted MoFo have more momentum that a silk-clad camel warrior charging downhill and thus, push farther into the human mass than the camel warrior?

Hmm...

And will TEMPERATURE be a factor? IE, will the armor-clad knight suffer in the desert? I think I read this was the case somewhere... But, will he just 'tire' fast, or will his 'performance' be hindered? And what about the camel warriors in Normandy? I'm SURE they would freeze their nuts off up there in their outfits...

Vanya, in 1187 the day before the battle of Hattim (where Saladin broke the military back of the crusaders) the crusaders under king Guido marched through the desert for a whole day. They were attacked by Saladins scouts (light armoured cav archers). Some European knights died because of the arrows, but much more died because of the sun. The next day, they had to fight at Hattim, they had no water, because Saladins troops were between them and tht nearby lake Genezareth, in the battle that began, thousands of crusaders were killed, or captured, only a few knights could break through Saladins lines and escape. The Europeans weren't beaten by Saladin alone, they were beaten by the desert, the sun and their foolish commanders (Guido the king and the commander of the templars).

GAH! They shoulda sent Pauly "The Snake", Tony "The Butcher" or Barry "The Baker" to lead the army instead of the inept Guido "The Kid"...

Hmmm that sounds stupid!!!
Anyway is would be nice for knights to fight better in cold weather and Arabs in hot provinces.

If you observe the screenshots you can see the formation buttons (though not very clearly). Based on this, I think that they have the same formation options.

btw, what kind of new formations do you expect?

Islamic formation?

1.spearmen
2.archers
3.cavalry

----3----

----1----
2---1---2
----3----

The cavalry on the front are the scouts the rest are the army.the army is actually 5 groups with the same formation so the total unit count will be:10 spearmen(or infantry)10 archers and 10 cavalry units.its a big army but i don't think it would fit in the MTW(i reckon MTW can only muster 16 units per army.

anyone know if wedge formation was used in medievil times

Yes, for example the Teutonic Knights fought a few battles using the wedge formation, and the english longbowmen were deployed in wedge formations at Agincourt.

wedge formation is quite useful when your on the offensive.
