This mod for RTW plans to focus on the egyptians before the romans starting in 3000 BC control factions like the hittites, the babylonians and many others but most of all lead your armies to victory using diplomatic and military means.:vulcan:

What does the map cover?

From the faction list, I'd say...
Northeast Africa (Lybia, Egypt (north and south, along the Nile), Asia Minor and the Middle East?

Correct we're thinking of expanding it so it goes no further than Constantinople. And we are trying to include two later factions as a surprise...

i would suggest you to reduce the faction nuber so its easier. This is a big modification, too much work sometimes soil proyects. Keep it simple, and then, if you got time and resources, make it bigger.

While the area seems to have been decided, what timeframe are you looking at for the mod?

If you're going to cut it down, you can make it focus upon the struggle between the Hittites and the Egyptians over the controll over the Levant. That way you can get a smaller area and focus more upon it. Or you can pick basicly any other of innumerible possible scenarios in the area.

Anyway, if you need a researcher I am VERY intressted. :2thumbsup:

also it might be work makking a thread at the twc forums as well just to create more intreste

syria is more historically correct and we might add the newly founded kingdom of (wherever Moses began Israel) we are cutting the time frame down to 1200-300 so as to focus on Ramses.

And new faction of the babylonians (not mentioned above)

1200 to 300 or 1300-1200? The first is a massive time frame, including cultural upsets on such a scale that you would need hundreds of factions to represent it. Try the second one.

I think you are right but 1310 or earlier to 1200 is better

Perhaps you could take it from maybe 1350/1320 BC with the return of the Egyptians and Hittites to power as empires to the end of the Sea People's ravagings around 1100 BC. That would give at least two hundred years, who if divided could produce between 200 to 800 turns. If you like you can also add the Hebrews and maybe, possinly (although I not sure) you could include the Arameans as another horde along with the Hebrews and Sea Peoples.

I think we need to limit the factions but that is a good idea so perhaps just oone the more important one could be chosen

It would probably be best to take the Sea Peoples then (if you're focusing on the Levant-Syria area) which had most effect upon the area.

I am currently neck deep in the INCA map as we work furiously to get a Beta out.

But since I've always been fascinated with ancient pre-Roman Egypt, I can offer my services as a technical advisor if you can't find people immediately who are a more knowledgable.
