I'm sure this is way premature, but is there an estimated time of arrival for EB2?

I am not a team member, but I can give you the official answer: when it's done. The EB team doens't like release dates, even estimated ones, since things have a way of going slower than expected; and in the past people regularly complained about even tentative release dates being missed.
