Is it possible to make it so that a bribed general will keep their original faction's bodyguard unit rather than change to the faction that bribed them, i.e. If you are playing as the Greek faction and you bribe a Gallic general, his bodyguard unit continues to be Gallic noble cavalry rather than Spartan hoplites?

No, hardcoded.

I have wondered about this one too.

If it is hardcoded as you say, then how it is possible that Karthago gets a Xanthipos with his spartiates?

I think that it would be uber cool if bribed generals would be allowed to keep their original companions.

Because Xanthipos is scripted.

Yeah, you could maybe write a script that would kill and revive a bribed general, but the names and traits would be all diferent.

No. You'd have to know the name beforehand and put it in the script.
