Hi,
before starting the next campaign I would like to know if altering the campaign end_date from 14 to 100 (AD) would be possible without crashing the game when it happens? Or in other words: does it bring stability conflicts with EB script if starting/ending dates are modified in any way?

The script ends in AD14, so if you change the date, everything will continue to work, just without the 4tpy script.

I thank thee for the answer.

Also, you will never get there anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Where will I never get to?
Is that impossible to play till 14 AD? Is there any bug or crash or whatever that prevents the player from reaching that date?
BTW: why 14 Ad and not any other date?
And what about the infamous "66 BC bug"? Is that finally removed in EB 1.0?

How can anyone play one faction for over 1100 turns?
(272+14)X4=1144 turns.
Surely that is more than enough?

AD14 was choosen for no real reason. It is the death of Avgvstvs, but it doesn't really matter. I don't believe anyone has ever gotten to the end date. If you play that long, there will be no other factions left and the entire map will be yours.
I think the 66BC crash is still in there. I heard recently that it is impossible to get rid of. Though it only appears for the factions that are Roman (for EB that is Arche Seleukeia, Hayasdan, and Baktria). Again, I don't think anyone has ever gotten there.

Whats this?
First I've heard of it.
Though, as you say, it doesn't seem like a game breaking bug...

In 66BC, the game will force the Roman civil war to start, if you have not started it already. If there is no Senate faction, the game will crash. I thought it was gone with RTW v1.5 or when you renamed the Senate faction (the slot is called "saba" internally), but apparently it still remains. I guess nobody has ever played EB that long to find out, though.

.
Maybe pull back the end date to 67 BC then? :inquisitive:
I presume it won't hit with BI.exe or Alex.exe...
.
I'm determined to get to 14 AD with my save, so i may well be the first. If so I can find out if this CTD still exists.
I'm at 112 BC currently, check out my AAR thats in progress to keep track if you like :laugh4:
Btw what do "the 4tpy script" mean?

It is the script that is integrated into the EBBS script that gives you 4 turns/seasons per year.

Hehe, who will help us and make 12 turns per year... For moment we have 4 turns per year. :D
It means we need to add 8 new turns per year, lol. :smash:
It will add a long from BC272 to AD14... (except a known bug as BC 66?)
I have an idea , why dont use another roman calendar? in roma surrectum (I think) they used another calendar which was based upon the creation of Rome (480 after rome was created ) so it didnt had the 66 bug
In another questions , if I were the romans and I get to 66 will the game still crash? even though the "roman factions are controled by the AI? , I think I heard that there couldn't be any civil war if the romans were controled by the AI

Probably. I could quite happily have played my Roman game down to 31BC, that was my intent. As it was I only managed as far as 133BC before serious bugs killed it.
