Seeing as EB2 has unlimited models will you be able to stop factions from being unable to recruit units due to model sharing issues, eg. Galatians for Aedui and Arverni or Syrakusan hoplites for Karthadastim?

Not exactly unlimited, but yes models will no longer be restricted and model sharing issues should no longer prevent factions from getting units. I'm personally looking forward to the Deuteroi, the Pantodapoi, and the Machomoi Phalangitai, all for the same faction.

Sounds good, thanks for the answer.

First, i am not very computer savvy so i apologise, but what exactly is 'model-sharing' and what do you mean 'unlimited models'?

Models are part of the unit graphics. They are basically the "outline" of each soldier. On that outline the graphic engine "pastes" the unit skin you see in-game. Both R:TW and M2:TW allowed for a limited number of models, although in M2:TW the limit is higher than in R:TW. The model limit is not the same as the unit limit however, as multiple units can make use of the same model. For example, in EB1 the Phalangitai Deuteroi (Macedonian levy phalanx), the Machomoi Phalangitai (Ptolemeic levy phalanx) and the Pantodapoi Phalangitai (Seleucid levy phalanx) all use the same model.

However, in R:TW each faction can have only two* units using the same model. In other words: a faction can have access to only two of the three levy phalanx units mentioned above, ore else the game would crash. That is the model sharing issue, and fortunately M2:TW does not have this restriction.

* Actually one, but there is a work-around for this.

Thanks for clearing that up. :)

:/ That must suck. What was the reasoning behind that?

Each model is programmed to have one skin per faction assigned to it plus one for a mercenary skin. The 'extra' slot is the mercenary slot, which can be easily used for a recruitable unit, but it is designed for only one skin per faction per model. M2TW works the same way, but the model limit is the same as the unit limit so it isn't a concern.
