View Full Version : Random crashes during turns, a patch issue?

Hi everyone,

I'm glad that there is an improved Shogun mod for Medieval Total War. I enjoy it.

But sadly I experience major crashes in the game.
2 of them:
1.During Saving the game and then entering it again.
2.During turns, where for example the messengers switch positions.

While I was playing Shogun total War, the game used to crash randomly, but with some patch everything was solved.

Maybe I skipped one importnant patch for the original MTW, which prevents random crashing during the turns itself?

My order of installing the game was:
1.Installed MTW
2.The Viking expansion
3.The VI 2.01 patch
4. And at last, the Shogun mod

So, do you think I followed the right order of installing the game?

Thanks in advance, and thanks for the great Mod!

Hello Kenitai,

Yes, that seems to be the right order. Did you install beta8?

Beta8 is the only file I know. Unless there was some mod file previously released that fixes my problem?

Hello Kenitai...welcome to the .Org

You have installed in the correct order.

There are two versions of the Samurai Wars Mod for MTW/VI.

The one you have installed, Beta 8 for SP and Beta 5 is for MP.

Look for any post here by Puzz3D and look in his Signature.

Happy Hunting.

You may have to run dxdiag and post the output here. I'm not sure what you mean by "messengers switch positions".

I think he means the strategic pieces, like diplomats etc.
Savegames can crash, they also do that in vanilla VI. There's no cure for that. I'm not certain what could cause a crash during the computer turn.
dxdiag may help to determine that. You could also look at the logfiles in the Medieval main folder.

Ofcourse the file is way bigger, but the thread would get insanely big...

MTW/VI should work ok with your hardware. Check out this thread (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=66713), and consider trying the Nvidia 61.77 driver (http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_61.77.html) mentioned in that thread.
