The prolific Maltz is diverting some of his boundless energy away from his popular AARs and is writing a guide to the logistics of TWS2. Logistics does not have the glamour of leading your men into battle, but it is every bit as important. Maltz is breaking it down and showing us how to utilize the logistical side of TWS2 efficiently. In the first two installments, he's covered the army and buildings. The upcoming installment will cover the arts research.

The Video Contest So Far

The Org Total War Shogun 2 Creative Video contest is underway and three videos have already been submitted. Interestingly, each submission has looked at the game from a different level. Kraken gets personal in his video, "Blood Bath", showcasing many individual one-on-one struggles during a battle. Heads roll and blood spurts everywhere. Maltz looks at the grand scale of the game, covering the highlights of an epic Date-Legendary campaign. Short clips of the best battles are often shown at high speed giving the viewer an interesting perspective on the battle unfolding while others battles show a singular, close up event. First Win of the First Round

Compressing over an hour of battle into just over four minutes, watch as fortunes are made and lost on this radar screen review of a Clan Wars Competition battle between La Garde Royale and the Round Table Knights.

Please note that the major fighting was over at about 25 minutes in, and with all four dojos captured, the Garde Royale missed completing the ten minute countdown to win by only 5 seconds!

Released: Total War Battles: Shogun

The game is now out for ipod and ipad. You can see a video of it in action here. The video is over 15 minutes long and contains the intro and earliest levels. The animations look like scaled down versions of the ones from Shogun 2. The music and sound effects are definitely taken from dear Shoggy.

Did anyone buy it?

EDIT: Found the official trailer. Looks pretty interesting.
