I 'started' playing TW games when I saw RTW at a m8's place. I bought it myself the next day and became addicted. I bought the BI expansion and played that a lot as well.<br />
<br />
When M2TW was released, I got that on day one pretty much and played it a lot but never finished a single campaign. It kinda got boring fast, so I put the games away and didn't touch them for nearly 5 years.<br />
<br />
I found my copy of M2TW again and installed it, downloaded some patches and started playing again.<br />
<br />
Having grown older, I found that I can actually understand the whole game now, so it is a lot more interesting than 5 years ago, when all I wanted to do was wage wars but ran out of cash after 30 or so turns =P (taking the time to read manual ftw).<br />

Fans have been asking to see more in-game action from Shogun 2: Total War, so that's exactly what we've put together. <br />
<br />
Our Land Battle Programmer Ingimar Gudmunsson and Communications Manager Kieran Brigden talk you through an epic night time battle, as the Chosokabe clan take on the Takeda clan. <br />
<br />
As a storm rages and lightning flashes from the sky, we get a look at some of the units available to you in Shogun 2: Total War, as well as some of their unique abilities. <br />
<br />
The video will demonstrate some of the new graphics technology integrated into Shogun 2: Total War, including new lighting, accurate fire and building damage simulation and rainfall effects. The video also demonstrates the sheer scale of the castles you can expect to encounter during Shogun 2 battles. <br />

I remember the time of hosting a tourney for 200 player, which was a pain, since the communication was so terrible bad...<br />

If CA is bringing an online version which automatically organize it, than this isnt need, actual i doubt it. <br />

The system would arrange the People, put in their names and kinda organize the &quot;next&quot; battles. The system could be pretty easy. Since there are opponents, you just need the winner of the match. <br />
<br />
If the looser saw a mistake, example could be wrong choose units, he has an option to sign in a bring up a logfile.<br />
<br />
<br />
Usually we would see a winner, who write in his name for the next match and once both games in one line was fought, the game gets set up automatically.<br />
This would be an easy way to arrange many battles pretty quick, without the need of many people to organize it.<br />
<br />
It could be possible to fight a whole tourney in a few hours.<br />
This has to be goal anyway, since the tourneys i know always took ages to get done.<br />
<br />
Its a basic idea.<br />

Has anyone experienced something like this before? I tried a search, but the terms I used were rather vague and gave strange results.<br />

I got the type 1 government at my capitol and then finished building type 3's or better in all of the requisite cities. The year was 230 and I was looking forward to see what I'd get as a reward. Nothing happened, or at least so I thought.<br />

I have a pretty large spy network, and while keeping tabs on my neighbors, I notice that every other faction's scripted reforms have activated. Well all except for the ones based on the &quot;march of time.&quot; The Seleucid's have their Cataphacts, the Celt's have both of their reforms, the Germans and Carthage got theirs, and strangest of all the Romans got both their polybian and marian reforms, but not the imperial ones.<br />
<br />
Other than this strange script error, the year is now 220 bc and the Lusitanians have conquered Spain, Epiros has all of southern Greece, Postos pushed through Byzantion, Tylis and is besieging Pella and Saurmatae pushed right on through Ukraine and is dominating the Germans.  <br />
<br />
Never have I seen such a hilarious combination of absurdities in a single campaign. I was just curios if anyone else has run into a reform error such as this and would also be curious to hear about other strange decisions the AI has made in their campaigns.<br />

Now, I'm not intimately familiar with MTW 1, so I can't really say whether, for example, the seemingly threadbare traits system would be a disadvantage or not (because, even though there seem to be little in the way of traits in regular MTW, there may well be &quot;under the hood&quot; traits that determine the stats of each unit commander that an EB 0 could bring out into the open for the player to see, or else it might be possible for the existing trait system to be expanded out into something worthwhile...<br />

Then there is the battle-system... Could phalangites be represented effectively, for instance? Again, I'm simply not familiar enough with the game to say for certain...<br />

What I do know, however, is that the system wherein cut-down routers become prisoners instead of merely being killed (something that happily returned in M2TW and which I am certain will be used in EB 2) would be good for the mod, as might the player-assigned offices (which could presumably be exploited for a variety of weird and wonderful ends).<br />

Also, I have to say that I absolutely <i>adore</i> the province system in MTW. The Risk-style board no doubt alienated quite a few players who started with Rome or a more recent game and back-tracked for a look at MTW later, but I was one of those people and I found the detailed sieges (wherein the number of turns a castle could hold out actually varied depending on the number of men inside) and I also loved how the rebels were a little bit less &quot;static&quot; than they are in RTW and M2TW, with rebel province acting a little bit more like main factions. I don't know, I just seemed to like everything about the province system, even the dicey could-easily-screw-you-over &quot;95% public order, 5% chance a rebellion will occur this year&quot; stuff didn't piss me off. I can also imagine a myriad of clever things being done with this system...<br />

I also seem to recall that MTW could support a humongous number of factions. Of course, this would have to be balanced out by the creative team being fairly selective about what factions to include (and not overworking themselves trying to &quot;throw in&quot; too many questionable ones), but the scope would certainly be there...<br />

I'm sure you can think of many others... So I ask, what do you think this hypothetical &quot;EB 0&quot; would be like? This question is particularly directed towards you TW players that have experience modding MTW, as I'm sure you can provide valuable insights into just what the engine is capable of and how such capabilities could benefit an EB style mod...</div>
