Rome won't have a port from the start, just a fishing village and the purpose was to preview the map graphics.
Capua however will have one since it was more influential.
Economics, starting buildings, armies aren't tweaked yet.

I love the lighthouses ^^
Well, urbanization started in the Middle Republic and its sack by Cilician pirates prompted shock and fear throughtout the Republic...
Plus with the grain coming from Egypt and Africa, it shouldn't be that improbable for a player to actively improve it...
Remember also that in EBII not all settlements will be able to develop all their buildings, so Ostia might actually stop like one tier short from those major hubs (though last part I'm speculating) :)
All in all, as long as its depiction is accurate for 272 BC, later development should be more than welcomed, provided it's reasonable and attested...
Also who knows, maybe EBII will end later than 14 AD :P

Yes, it's from the brand ©Two-handed saw.
Sweet, You must have done some mindreading, I was already thinking about asking for some sneak peak on the lugiones since they were previewened so long ago but almost without pics but now there's my wish fulfilled and the explaination behind the lack of pics (they are still being done). Also, that second guy must have survived brawling with some Slaganz, what a hugly wound in his head! Very nice =)Quote:

So that's where the chainsaw Sweboz Tux posted earlier comes in.
if one could row the boats up the rivers it could make for a trully awsome campaign around the danube and the nile
Could we pixelate out that "wound" pls? A bit rule 34 if you ask me.
Cyclops, I find your interpretation of anatomy disturbing
Just because you're from down under doesn't mean that everything is on the opposite end, Cyclops.
It does look like a nasty gash though..... ohh, er

300 men for the machines is going to take quite some arrows XD
Though I guess the 111 men cavalry can deal with them ahahahhaha
Edit:
Easily the best looking one, although I'm still awed by the lighthouses for the greek ports ^^Quote:
Could that be..... what I think it is?.................. :beam:Quote:
Preview of a cool lugii unit in progress: https://img268.imageshack.us/img268/6983/83285754.jpg … https://img33.imageshack.us/img33/416/65721364.jpg …
The new ports and the Stratmap are getting astonishing! And the oxybeles animation screenshots are awesome in so many different ways =)
Kludda Lugiae ?
Is it a unit mentioned in the preview? Not trying to spam here so this is my last guess. After seeing this image: Attachment 6588, I think I see the La Tene phase D knife and javelin point, the subrectangular shield, the La Tene phase C/D iron handgrip, the knife sheath and a leather shoe. I also see a long spear shaft. So I'm thinking Late Koroi.
