Buying a new laptop--advice needed

Hello, friends. My current laptop is dying so I am going to buy a new one really soon. I have narrowed my options to 2 laptops:

1- Asus k556ur core i5 6GDDR4 (Ram) 1 terra HD 7200u with a 2g Nividia 930mx Graphic card and a Polymer battery of 38 WHR (4-5 hours battery backup) with a full HD display 1920x1080 resolution and with sonic master sound capability.

2-HP Probook 450 g4 i5 8GDDR4 1 terra HD 7200u with 2g Nividia 930mx graphic card and a 48-whr battery (8-12!!! battery backup)
with a 1366x768 display with average sound capabilities.

I cannot decide. The Asus has great display and sound but average battery life and plastic casing. The Probook has more RAM, a superb battery life which should last you a whole day and its casing is a lot better than the Asus but its screen is not good enough and the sound is average at best. Some people are also saying that the Probook 450 g4 has some stability issues (e.g. the laptop unexpectedly shutting down and occasional freezes).

I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance.

What do you want to buy it for and what price range are we talking about?
They both seem a bit lackluster to me.

Hello Husar! Well I need a multi_purpose laptop, for doing work (which involves writing and watching videoes), and for personal entertainment, light gaming and music. As for the specifications, my budget is around 650$, which is why the specs are not so great.

In that case the budget is unfortunately the main issue. ~;)
The 930MX is only really suited for very light gaming AFAIK, some benchmarks can be found here: http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-....156035.0.html

I think the ASUS is better due to the screen resolution, but the 6GB RAM really put me off on the other hand. Not that it will run games in 1080p, but for work etc. I'd prefer the higher resolution. Perhaps you could upgrade the RAM of the ASUS after a while or buy an additional module with it right away?

Here is a third option ( The graphics card is AMD Radeon R5 M420 and the battery backup is about 4-5 hours) What worries me is the battery capacity-only 33 WHR

The R5 M420 seems significantly slower than the 930MX unfortunately, it may even make light gaming a challenge. :shrug:

Did you check whether you could upgrade the RAM of the first ASUS? IIRC I saw somewhere that it has a free slot for an upgrade.

Upgrading the RAM is usually not very hard, provided the case can be opened without damaging it. Depending on what you have now and what you want to dfo with it, the standard 6GB could be an upgrade already and sufficient anyway though. :shrug:

Heh, thought about that until I saw his location and thought maybe his options are really that limited. :shrug:

I already noticed in Colombia that other countries do not necessarily offer the portfolio that is available in the first world.

As I suggested in the other laptop thread, Ebay is a great way to get a high-quality laptop for just a couple hundred dollars.... If you can find someone who ships internationally, that is. :sweatdrop: I got an HP Elitebook that way myself and recently my sister got one on my advice and loves it. :yes:
