Hi All, TW fan saying hello.
Hi guys,
I've been playing TW games since Shogun came out, so, I'm part of the old guard. My interest has como to focus on Europa Barbarorum, just because I like battles in a mucho more realistic mode than vanilla TW games. Also, campagin tends to be boring for me. What I love of TW is the tabletop wargame mode.
¡Saludos!

Welcome The Feathered Serpent,
I'm sure you're already aware of this but you can find the Europa Barbarorum subforum here.

Welcome The Feathered Serpent ~
Good to have you here. Did you give TW:S2 a try?

Re: Hi All, TW fan saying hello.
Hi, The Feathered Serpent,
a "be welcome" from another dinosaur-player; I had started with S:TW as well, and still love it!
greetings, daigaku

Re: Hi All, TW fan saying hello.
Thank all of you for your kind welcomes and for the indication Peasant Phill! Andres, I played S2 for some time, but I'm more interested in no gunpowder warfare (think I've a chivalric sense of conflict). Also I was disappointed with the performance of katana samurais and of the melee general (you can tell by know that that is part too of a chivalric sense of conflict). Also with droppers and retainers unbalanced system.

Hi,
@ Andres: seems to be a cool MOD - when do you release it?!?

Re: Hi All, TW fan saying hello.
I won many awards for it in 65.075.085 BC, but unfortunately I lost them together with the download links when we switched over to Mesozobulletin 1.2 in 65.011.001 BC ~:(

Hi Serpent! :ave:
Btw, what is your favourite faction in EB?
My personal favourites are the Ptolemaioi :egypt: and Makedonia ;)

Could it be the server wasn´t asteroid-proof?!?

Re: Hi All, TW fan saying hello.
In those days, we cavemen ate asteroids for breakfeast :snobby:
We had to walk 1.000 miles uphill in temperatures of over 100 degrees Celsius to catch ourselves a tasty asteroid. After we had finished eating, usually some earthquake and vulcano eruption had happened and we had to walk 2.500 miles back home, uphill again. Those were the days.

I don't like guns in TW games either. They ruin the magic, imo. I also agree with the general unit being useless in battle. It's not possible to role play a heroic daimyo, since they die so fast in battle; as a unit, the general unit is only useful for chasing routing troups after the battle ended; not exactly chivalric.

Re: Hi All, TW fan saying hello.
Hi, Andres,
...yeah, those days when the continental drift was about a mile an hour, landscape wasn´t what it is today - running after the cave drifting downhills and to the sea just to catch the entry the moment it hits water!
grunting greetings, daigaku ;-))

Ave, Sevilius Novus!
I've not a favourite faction. What I can say regarding that matter is that I started with the Romani, because they are like making additions in mathematics. But then I faced a very skilled opponent and had to move to another factions, more complex in the unit rooster. Now I'm testing Pontos and Saka Rauka, they have quite an attractive combination of units.

@The Feathered Serpent
I'm curious what faction was that very skilled opponent? Carthage? (In North-Africa they are quite strong, especially if you let them expand). Or I might guess the Lusotannans, they can be quite a surprise and are stronger than first seem...

Re: Hi All, TW fan saying hello.
He used Casse to beat the Romani (Casse has an excellent bunch of infantry). Still, that doesn't makes the Romani obsolete, you just need to bring more infantry and search for attrition. Also, cataphract factions like Arche Seleukeia can be difficult to handle for a Romanorum General, due to his lack of heavy cav.:dizzy2:
