Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
Man did I get lucky in giving the Water College Artifact to Visorslash....had I given it to Chaotix....:sweatdrop:
I also realize it was just luck that the Water College even won. We never attacked any member of the College of Fire, we even had the last scumbag in our College and to top it off killed TinCow who called for a truce. That could have restarted the College wars. :wall:
In fact, the only worthwhile thing we did do was try and kill or lynch Kenngit. I think Khaan and co. would have killed him at some point anyway. The only other thing we did right, was that our former Headmaster's of edse and Andres really paved the way for our survival against fire.:book:
I think the Seer of the mafia needed some kind of recruitment...and before you go "White_eyes, you hate recruitment with a fierce passion". I still sort of do, but with everyone having vig-killing powers it becomes more of a survival ability for scum then a "God-mode activate" kind of thing.:robot:
I really enjoyed this game for the Magic based stuff. Almost one hit-killing EF remains the highlight for me...:laugh4:
Good game everyone.

Almost one hit killing? You took away 6 out of 13 HP, calm yourself down. :clown:

Had Visorslash joined in....you would have died that night. Sad part was that would have been VERY bad, as Ironside would have been lynched.:sweatdrop:
Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
I would be hosting NOTW game at civfanatics. Game is named 'Holy Crusade' and is re-do of my mini mafia game of the same name.
It would be in some ways similar to this one. If someone is interested, you can sign here:

Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
Fire will rise again!
It was a good game, although I did play it badly. Next time I would just try and recruit everyone and worry about scans later.
Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
A great showing, Jarema.
If I can get my personal life settled down, I'd like to discuss with you an idea for a sequel.
Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
Coming around reading through the quicktopics. Chaotix, you'd be extremely suspect by post 27. :stare:
And something I thought about boosting scan framing since it's rarely useful (you'll need to be very lucky to pull something that ends up like this). Make it last for 2 turns.

Pizza, first get your current game in order, don't bite off more than you can chew.

It is not a matter of next few weeks, so I hope we can discuss it
Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
Water college win! Good job.
Thanks for the game jarrema, it was really quite good and I enjoyed it a lot.
Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
It's important for you all to know that I had Kennigit pegged from the beginning. It's all in the QT. :smug:
Good on town, though - despite rampaging through the original Schoolmen, they went on a roll against scum in the first half of the game!
This is like, uh, that one recent game - anyone help me out? Past half year...Werewolves, right? Do I recall correctly?
Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
After reading thru the mafia QT's, I feel for poor Jarema...I could just tell he was trying his best to convince the mafia to join colleges but they had none of it.
Personally, I can't see the downfall of joining a college as scum...cheaper to upgrade skills, college members have your back(Mostly), much easier to instigate college wars and trade intel. The only downfall is that the Headmaster may tell you to do something and you better DO it.:book2:
I now think the set-up was balanced-ish, if the mafia would have joined various colleges I really think town would have lost.:sweatdrop:

A couple of things, we didn't know about the discount upgrading skills so joining a college of an element we weren't strong seemed odd to us at that time, we expected to get other invites to match our base skills, the only one of us to get a second invitation was kennigit in his last day but at that time our fate was already sealed.

I don't know, I still feel we needed the ability to kill alone or at least coupled, without it we would be sitting ducks expecting someone to notice our base corruption.

your starting corruption was 2 points higher than corruption of some townies. Cult seer's corruption was only 1 point higher than corruption of some townies... I think after few nights of not killing, some players will have higher corruption than you.
But of course, killing was also possible. Most characters would not survive attack of 3 of you... I think Chaotix was sole exception, maybe also college head will have a chance. And if you invest some XP both to attack and into corruption, you will be able to kill in teams of 2. Of course, then your corruption would be even more obvious
There is other interesting thing IMO: only one college heas (Issaikhaan) put real effort into searching for scum with his scans. If all college heads scan for scum... well, that could be overpowered for town.
I also believe that protection offered by college items was too powerful (absolute protection from 3 elements). I will change it in future game.

I was a good townie. Now, those other, greedy headmasters... :whip:

I still would have done so...if only to get in the Air and Water college's(One of each would have been best). I think you guys were focusing too much on your AV's...almost all the water college didn't reveal or were not asked to reveal their water AV/DV.
It was corruption and inter-college war that should have been your focus...you see, if you would have been in Air or Water you could have redirected more suspicion at various colleges. I mean Pizzaguy freaked out, when he found out he was being randomly attacked by water. Chaotix ran nearly undetected for some time until that whole Pizzaguy thing...and during that time if the scum would have been killing at even one person per night, they would have controlled most of the vote by day 13(?), if none of them were lynched of course.:book:
Still, I am surprised that Khaan was so town this game.:laugh4:
Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
Khaan knocks himself a bit too much. I've seen khaan generally kick butt when he gets into a game and doesn't look his usual always scummy.
This game he knocks it out of the park. But he's done that before. CAMPGROUND.
