Thanks bobbin!

Did anyone look at Bobbin's Year Seven EB Member sig? The background picture is the same color as his Occultus sig and it seems to represent the same picture.
It doesn't represent the Silphium plant does it?

I suppose this is tiger. And I think this is some Arabian faction.
PS
Tell me please, what does "Occultus" means? I thought that is how you call Bosphoran Kingdom, but now it seems this word stands for "unknown faction"
"Occulutus" is latin for "hidden" or "secret".
Its the name we give to all unrevealed factions.
Just to be different I'm gonna say its a Silphium plant and the faction is Cyrene.
I'm amazed that people can say it's ..., all I see is a black patch and some yellow lines on a reddish background XD

Yes, it seems to be a plant.
Look at the background of Bobbin's EB Member signature right below the Occultus one. It is the same color and the pattern to the left of the word "Seven" looks very similar to the left side of his Occultus sig only rotated slightly.
Moreover, if this connection is correct, the section to the left of the word "Year" looks exactly like the top of several depictions of the Silphium plant which appears on many coins from Cyrene.
Here is a link that describes the plant and it's connection to the region. It also contains a few pictures of coins.

Hopefully I'm right. More than likely I'm just causing chuckles from the EB team.:clown:
Just saying, but the year part is a different image file and differs for every member depending on which year he joined. As can be seen in my sig.
What is it with you lot and the fonts, you are always thinking there is a connection. FYI the font for the "Boii" text in your sig is the same as the one in mine (Rusticana).
I'm speaking about font because I lacked another word in english for the... general theme how the lines are made? Sorry for the confusion. I'd not state they are the same in this regard anymore though.
I see your reasoning but at least XSamartan said otherwise as far as I understand his posting:

I can't see how this is relevant for guessing this faction though. Thanks for the better quality picture by the way.
How are these occultus signatures exactly work? Are they the real signature just blackened or could it e.g. only be a part of a complete picture/signature?
Yea looks like a plant
Palmyra?
I'm supporting FMC's guess.

Of course, it will be a steppe faction. Because no one expects as much. :dizzy2:
I'm going on the colors and say that it's a new Arabic faction so Saba has someone to contend with. Maybe Hadramaut, Qataban or Ma'in? The symbol is a life tree of some sort maybe?
well, looks like a tree, i would guess a Boswellia sacra. That would mean an arabic faction, probably the source of Frankincense, Hadhramout.
Did you think was any connection to the Boswellia sacra, in other ways here i found a interesting history of use of the frankincense
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Damn it. I thought the last one was an ox and it indicated an Indian faction, but the whole "no Mauryan" thing diverted me. This time I've got no bloody idea at all.
I imagine it will be somebody obscure, that very casual readers of history like me have never heard of, because all the obvious ones have been suggested by now. Somebody whose archaeological/historical information is greater than their fame, so the EB team have heard of them but us plebs haven't.
Of course Ubar would bring a whole new meaning to "Occultus Faction". :)

I'm gonna throw in another for the fun of it :P
Could it be two crossed cornucopias?

I say it's the ptolomioi Attachment 3130 take a look at the coin
edite: definitly not a ptolomaic symbol. looked again. why do those EB members have to be so secretive and give us a few hints atleast:dizzy2:
Ubar is not discovered at the small site at Shisr, which is no more than a small stop. It has some walls and towers and some minor structures within but it really is small. A little later during the same investigation (they used sattelite image analyses to find the sites) they actually found a bigger one a little north and west of modern day Salalah, which appears to have been called Saffara. This will most likely be the local province capital. However this region is one of those places we virtually have no information about. It's the last place where you'll have to look for a faction sadly. Probably will not even get a unique unit.
