US and Allies vs Russian Federation

This is a scenario which strives to depict a hipotetic WW III, started for gaining control of the vast natural resources that the Russian Federation posesses, but also for controlling the natural resources of the Middle East. Take it just for fun !


In this first installment, the player will play the USA, and once the interactive is finished (either with victory or defeat), a new one will begin, with the player on the Russian side. ~:)

Rules and introduction :

- It is the year 2010. USA is still struggling in the War against Terrorism withouth achieving any significant success, while the Russian Federation lead by V.P becames stronger and stronger, both politicly and militarily. Also,the global shortage of oil supplies has put Russia in total control of some of the greates unexplored reserves. Tensions regarding the extension of NATO towards east have became increasingly strong, so the US administration decides that it is the time to take military action against the Russian Federation.

- This is no war of hatred, or a war of extermination. It is fought for control of the natural resources. Due to the high risk of mutual distruction (with desastruos consequences worldwide), none of the combatants will use its nuclear weapon arsenal (highly unlikely in a real event, but made this rule for more fun), howewer the most modern military machines and weapons will be put to the test in this ultimate crash between the East and the West.

- There will be in the begining a number of "fronts", across Europe, Middle East and Asia. The first begining decisions will be strictly politic, and will affect the future events. The number of these "fronts" may vary depending on events, military actions, etc. When military operations will begin, i will provide maps for the different "fronts", for a better understanding.

- Morale, economic, social, and politic issues will be very important.

- The purpose of this interactive is to provide a realistic simulation of that WW III could be. Lets hope that it will never turn into a reality !

Before starting the actual combat, a short review of the fronts, the political and military situation.

1. THE MIDDLE EAST "FRONT"

OVERALL SITUATION :

March, 2010

US has 100 000 troops still present in Irak, with 10 000 allied troops (5000 british). The situation is still tensionate, as the insurgents are starting to attack more and more hoping that a war between USA and Russia will destabilize the US presence in the area enough for them to liberate their country and install a guvernment of their one. The Iraki pro-american guvernment has around 80 000 soldiers, while in the nord, the Kurdish Militias, also loyal to US, have around 50 000 man ready for combat. In the Persian Gulf are 2 american carriers, a fleet of 12 destroyers, 7 cruisers, 10 u-boats, and numerous other military vessels, ready for action.

Meanwhile, the neighbouring Iran has strenghtened its relationship with Russia. Russian military advisors and some Russian Spetsnaz are already present in Iran, closely monitoring the border with the US-controlled Irak. Iran has around 500 000 soldiers ready for action, howewer only 60 000 of them can be considered truly "elite", capable of putting a serious match to the US army. Iranian navy is not impressive at all, while its airforce is composed of outdated american aircraft and modern russian fighters. Russian Spetsnaz units and advisors totallyze 20 000 men as of 10 March 2010. Russian bombers from the military base of Astrahan can provide additional air support if needed.

Sirya is also preparing for war, and its army of 100 000 man was stationed at the borders with Irak and Israel. They posses a number of good airrcaft and tanks, but most of the troops lack modern military training.

POLITICAL :

Israel is offering its military aid against Iran. The Israeli troops are some of the best (if not the best) in the world, and they are experienced in modern warfare. Israeli airforce can attack targets from Iran and Syria as well, providing aditional air support for the US troops if needed.

Howewer, a cooperation with Israel would worsen US relations with other arab states in the area, such as Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Kuwait, and Qatar. They offered their disponibility to help, militarily and logistically, by putting their bases at the dispozal of the US troops and by offering military support when nedeed. Altough small, these countryes posses good armyes, with weapons and military gear bought from the USA in the past years.

Another issue is the Kurdish issue. For years, the Kurds are striving to create and independent Kurdistan comprising teritories of Irak, Iran and Turkey. They offered their support for US. They are good fighters, and may create insurgenties in norht-western Iran, destabilizing the area. Howewer, colaboration with Kurd will worsen the US relationship with Turkey. Turkey will offer to US acces to military bases, but only if the US will stop cooperationg with the Kurds.

So, the first politicall issues to be solved are :

1. The Israel - Arab countryes issue :

a) Will cooperate with Israel
b) Cooperate with Arab Countryes

2. The Turks - Kurds issue :

a) Will cooperate with Kurds (this will significantly worsen the relation with Turkey)
b) Will cooperate with Turkey (this will significantly worsen the relation with Kurds)

1A- Support Israel! US got good enough base in Iraq anyway.
2A- Since we are allying with Israel, we need people to destablise the other Arab countries through guerillas, the Kurds would be great for this

Wouldn't it be better if the first 5 or so replies are taken into acount? No need for rash decisions.

Israel option B, but keep good relations with Israel. We aren't in a war yet so we don't have to use drastic measures just yet. Besides, Israel is a trump card we could play later when we might have a need for Israels speed on the battleground.

The Turks option B. I know the Kurds have a motivated fighting corps but they don't compare to that of the Turks. If WWIII is a possibility, I'd rather be allied with a decent power with a well trained military than with a would be nation with a small militia like army (granted that they will be highly motivated and very resourceful).

I think its pretty impossible for Israel to like the US if America supports the Arab countries... so unless we have something they both want, we should pick Israel.

1.) A) Israel is a better option than the Arab countries. They make better soldiers and also, we get brownie points with American Jews at home.

2.) B) The Turks. The Turks make excellent soldiers, certainly more professional soldiers than the Kurds.

I think that it is better to get along with the Arabs than Israel. The Arabs could create a hole bigger mess than the Israelites can, for our future aggressive plans.

I also think that the Turks are better allies than the Kurds, although this could of course make the situation in Iraq much worse, I think this is the best. As otherwise Turkey might even jump the fence on the Russian side.

All right it looks like this will very quickly become an all out war so that the middle-east will be redrawn. Thus i would suggest that we mantain our alliance with Israeli and the Turks. Both of these are far more professional military powers.

It isn't impossible. The US has bases in arabian countries at the moment and has still an excelent diplomatic relationship with Israel. I also prefer the alliance of Israel in a straight fight but for the moment we should look for the support of a large number of nations. It can't end well if we're immediatly surrounded by enemy nations.

It seems indeed there are many answers, many opinions. If for the first post i took in account only the first response, for the following situation the rule will change and first 3 answers will be taken into account.

In the Middle East Front, US clearly exposed their support for the Kurdish cause, and as of 2 March 2010, the First Minister of Turkey politely asked the US administration to retreat its military from the turkish soil as soon as possible. On 3 March, the US troops left all military bases from Turkey, including the strategically-important one from Incirlik.

As of 2 March 2010, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia asked the US administration to retreat its military personell from its teritory. American military personell is withrdrawn in the same day and relocated to bases in southern Irak.

3 March 2010, Qatar and Kuwait asked the US administration to retreat its military personell from its teritory. They are relocated in the same day at the border with Syria.

The Arab League express its concerns about the iminent war, regarding it as a great danger to the stability of the region. The Arab League states its neutrality, altough some members of it like Syria might get involved in war.

4 March 2010,

06: 30 local hour : Israel declares state of emergency and general mobilization for all armed forces

07: 45 local hour : exchanges of fire took place between Israeli and Syrian border patrols. No fatalities reported.

08: 57 local hour : Missile attacks executed by islamist groups against the cityes of Haiffa and Tel-Aviv kill 10 and injure further 15.

09: 12 local hour : Kurdish militants cross the border with Turkey. Violent clashes erupt between them and the Turkish Military, yet unknown number of victims. Al Jazeera reporters claim that in southern Turkey the guvernor has declared state of emergency as even the city of Malatya might be threatened.

10: 30 local hour : Kurdish militants from Iran take control of a number of valleys in north-western Iran. 2 Iranian divisions are on the way to deal with them.

11: 25 local hour : Iraki insurgents attack with mortars and RPGs all major american bases near the "Sunni Triangle". No fatalities reported so farr.

12: 45 local hour : Americans patrolling the border with Iran near Basra, are beeing caught in small fires exchange with iranian patrols.

2. EASTERN EUROPE (European front)

This is the second front, we will evaluate the politicall and military situation / country as of 1 March 2010. The overall situation is rather complicated : some members of the UE support the war, others do not, as the rift between US and some Western European states became stronger and stronger...

Bulgaria :

Military:

US has 20 000 troops stationed in this country, and is having authorisation to use the military airfields from Varna and Burgas. The Bulgarian army is around 30 000 professional soldiers, having a good training, but lacking some more modern equiptment. They will not take part in military operations against the Russian Federation, but the Bulgarian Fleet will offer support if needed.

Politics :

In Bulgaria the leading guvernment is pro-American, howewer there is a large faction of pro-Russian supporters. US has 15 000 troops stationed in Bulgaria. There is one charismatic political figure, V. B, wich already has organised a series of protest against the stationing of US troops on Bulgarian soil. CIA reports suggest that he is gaining more support day by day. Experts suggest 2 ways of dealing with him , either killing him in a simulated "car accident" (that would lead to an array of speculations and would eventually transform him in a martyr), either by ignoring him, or by putting him under a false accusation of "corruption".



Greece :

Greece does not support the war, they will take no part in military operations, howewer they will offer supplies and medical care if needed.No US troops are stationed in Greece so farr.

Serbia :

Serbia opposes the war as their are leaded by a pro-Russian guvernment. Howewer. they are much to weak to represent any kind of threat.

Hungary:

Hungary will support the war, both politically and militarily. Hungary still claims a small part of Ucrainian teritory.They will provide 15 000 man for military operations, decently trained, but still with outdated equipment. US has 20 000 troops stationed on their teritory, mainly around the Szeged military airbase.

Slovakia:

Slovakia will support the war, both politically and militarily as it also claims parts of the Ucrainian teritory. They will provide less than 5000 troops, specialised in engineering operations. US has 10 000 troops stationed on their teritory

Romania :

Romania is beeing lead by an pro-american guvernment, howewer there is a growing pro-russian movement composed mostly of former comunists and oligarchs, rated around 35 %. Romanians, both polticians and commoners strive to use this ocassion for ocupying the neighbouring ex-soviet republic of Moldavia, wich is at the current moment lead by a pro-russian guvernment. Romania also want to take back from Ucraine much of the land to the Nistru, howewer they would not want to march further than that. The harsh lessons from WW II are not forgeted that easily !

US has around 300 000 troops stationed on Romanian soil. Aditional 25 000 italian and spanish troops are present, as these two countries are supporting the US. American Black Sea Fleet is located near the city of Constanta, and it is comprised by one carrier, 3 destroyers, 4 cruisers, and numerous other smaller vessels. Romanian military is around 100 000 men strong. 50 000 men will participate in an eventual war. Of them, 15 000 are the "Mountain Fighters", an elite unit trained to fight in mountainous areas, located at the mountainous northern frontier with Ucraine. The Romanian military equipment is a little outdated, the same for the airforce. CIA preliminary reports says that the Romanian troops morale would succomb to prolonged combat and high rate of casualties.Number of troops from Romanian wich wil take part in operations totallize around 375 000.

Poland :

Poland totally supports the war, with only a minority in oposition. They also claim larg the entire teritory of Western Ucraine. US has stationed almost 350 000 military personell on polish soil. 50 000 elite US army units, including Delta Force and the Marines are present to protect the valuable Baltic Sea ports and also the Anti-Missile shield stations. Aditional 100 000 Spanish, Italian and British troops are also present. The famous Anti-Missile shield is having a number of stations on Polish soil, and it is believed that once the war starts, Russian commandoes will try to sabotage them. Polish military is around 150 000, of wich 100 000 will participate to war. They are well trained, and CIA reports states that they are also very motivated. Number of troops in Poland wich will take part in the war totallize around 600 000.

Of the Western European contryes, France and Germany clearly stated that they do not support this war. USA can count on support from Italy, Spain, Great Brittain, Sweden , Finland and the Baltic Republics (the "northern front" will be discussed shortly). CIA inteligence claims that if the begining of the war is favorable, it is likely that France and Germany would join in with some troops.

Enemyes

Ucraine :

Ucraine is clearly pro-Russian, howewer there is a faction in western Ucraine that is pro-occidental. There is a slight chance that they might join the US troops once the war has started, as they want to establish an independent state. Howewer, Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia all claim parts of Western Ucraine.

Ucraine has stationed 200 000 troops at the border with Poland, and another 200 000 at the border with Romania. Howewer, the Ucrainian troops are not well trained at all, and their equipment is quite old and outdated. Nevertheless, they have reliable tanks and aicraft. Ucrainian Fleet is large, and it is located mostly in the port cityes of Odessa and Sevastopol. Aditional Russian troops have been deployed : 150 000 at the Polish border, and additional 100 000 at the Romanian Border.

Moldavia :

Moldavian army is comprised of about 25 000 men, with an aditional 50 000 Russian troops. CIA claims that once the US-Romanian troops invade ,elements of the Moldavian army might switch sides.

Aditional 20 000 Russian troops are stationed in the separatist republic of Transnistria, with an additional 5000 transnistrian militias.

Belarussia :

Belarussian army is composed of 100 000 men armed with old soviet equipment. Aditional 200 000 Russian troops are stationed and ready for action. It is rumoured that 15 000 commando elite units of the Russian Army are just waiting to infiltrate in Poland to knock down the US anti-missile shield.

Russian enclave near Kaliningrad

Russian enclave near Kaliningrad has around 150 000 russian troops ready for action at any moment. They are some of the elite units of the Russian Army, and theyr purpose is to attack towards Poland and the Baltic States (northern front discussed later).

b) Do not evacuate population.

We really do not need to create a martyr and surly not raise public opinions against us. I think they're more likly to take direct action if they think we are threatning them directly. Lets try to make things work in a smooth way if possible.

Since we are waging a war of aggression, I think that giving our allies their parts is more importent than giving something to the locals. Although I do see the use of gaining local support. Still that would sapp the support we get from other countries.

We really shouldn't start a panic, yet. I think it's best to keep things working as they used to. That way people will lilkly not think that much about the war either, and we need both the industries and the harbors working to support our forces abroad.

Neighbours can be compensated when the war is over, like it has always been. We must give the Western Ucraine a reason to join us and giving them new overlords won't help.

Inform the populace but don't evacate just yet. If we evacuate, Russia already dealt us a economic blow without launching one missile.

V.B: Accuse him of corruption, that'll put him and his supporters on the defensive.

East European Allies: Give them Western Ukraine.

U.S: Do not evacuate population centers. The Russians aren't going to waste their time on our population centers, especially since an ICCM lacks enough payload to do extensive damage.

Also, the Soviets can drive a wedge between our forces in Poland and Romanian by attacking Slovakia, so try to get some reinforcements into Slovakia.

Middle East: Why the HELL did we support the Kurds. Keep talking to the Turks at the very least, we don't want to lose them. If we lose them, we lose a strategic strong point.

We will continue to review political situation on all fronts, taking the important decisions wich need to be made before starting actual combat. After we finish reviewing them, and the war starts, if there is enough interest for this interactive, players will take full command on operations on different fronts. If they want, they can choose also Russian side.

In Eastern Europe, US clearly stated to Poland, Romania , Slovakia and Hungary that they will be rewarded in teritory for their contribution in the war. As of 2 March 2010, Romania decided to supliment its military contingent with an extra 10 000, while Romanian agents infiltrated into Moldavia already made arrangements with major leaders of Moldavian Army groups. It is likely that once the war starts, the Russian Army present in Moldavia will retreat in Transnistria. In western Ucraine, Polish agents backed by CIA started a number of riots in Cernauti and Lvov. Pro-Hungarian movements started also in the city of Ujgorod, near the border with Hungary.

03 March, 2010 : In the European Parlament, Italy, Spain and the Eastern European countryes part of UE are putting more and more pressure on France and Germany to contribute with troops to the war.

04 March 2010,

05 : 45 local hour : Russian Black Sea Fleet departs from its harbour at Soci, heading to a yet unidentified direction. Reports say it is heading towards Crimeea to reinforce the Ucrainian Fleet

05 : 55 local hour : Bellarusian fighters survolate the Polish - Bellarusian border. Polish fighters join to supervise their movements.

06 : 00 local hour : Romanian ships start to place sea-mines of shore from Constanta while, small US-vesseles organise reconaiscence operations off the shores of the Snake`s Island.

07 : 11 local hour : Romanian Mountain Division stationed in the mountainous northern border with Ucraine, engages in combat with units from Ucrainian army. No fatalities as of yet.

08 : 35 local hour : Unidentified aicrafts spotted on radar near the coastline of Poland. CIA believes that Russian agents attempt to infiltrate to knock down the anti-missile shield. Imediately, units of special forces are dispatched in the area. No traces of Russians where found as of yet.

09 : 15 local hour : Hungarian artilery responds to mortar shelling by Ucrainian army. Howewer, after two volleys, things go quiet. For the moment.

12 : 32 local hour : A number of units from the Moldavian army have defected and started to attack Russian units. Figthing is getting even more intense, Russians are receiveing reinforcements from Ucraine and Transnistria, CSI mercenaries also have been spotted. Romanian leadership asks for US troops to start the attack in support of the Moldavian armyes rebellion....

3. NORTHERN EUROPEAN FRONT
(as of March, 2010)

OVERALL :

Most of the countries in this region will actively participate in the war, with the exception of Germany and Denmark. Norway, Sweden and Finland already have declared general state of emergency. The Baltic States, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are facing a difficult situation.

SITUATION

In Estonia, it is likely that once the war will begin, the large Russian comunity will start an open rebellion. This , and considering the fact that the Russians already have over 300 000 man on the border with the Baltic Republics, might turn this into a catastrophy.

Latvia and Lithuania are facing similar situations. There are a number of very hard strategic decisions to be made.

Most of US and allied troops are concentrated in Finnland, as their purpose is to take the strategically vital port of Murmansk, and also the city of Sankt Petersburg. 30 000 US Troops are present in Finnland, suplemented by about 200 000 British troops, 10 000 Swedish troops, 20 000 Canadian troops, 35 000 Finnish troops and 15 000 Norvegian troops. This troops also protect northern Norway and its border with Russia, and Great Britain is in charge with most of the operations on this front.

Sweden and Southern and Central Norway are protected by 20 000 British troops, supplemented by 50 000 Swedesh army personell and 50 000 Canadians, Italians and Portuguese, in order to protect the countryes from possible Russian landings.

British Fleet is present in the Baltic with 2 carriers, 10 destroyers, 12 cruisers and an impressive array of auxiliary vessels. They are also beeing supported by Swedish, Finnish and Polish navyes.They are positioned currently of the coast of Gothland.

In the Norwegian Sea, British posses an extra carrier, with 5 destroyers , 14 cruisers, supported by the fleet of Norway.

In the Baltic states, US has around 50 000 troops, supllemented by the armies of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, totallyzing around 30 000 man. Great Britain is in charge with the operations on this front, having around 250 000 man ready for action, backed by 20 000 troops from Italy and Spain. CIA claims that a strong Russian attack will take place early on, especially in Lithuania wich likely is going to be attack from two directions, as the Russians will try to link with their elite troops situated in the pocket of Kaliningrad.

Russian army is disposed all across the border, with higher concentrations near the important cityes of Minsk, Sankt Petersburg and Murmansk. They totallize around 600 000 troops. Russian president V.P has given orders that these cities are not to be let to fall in enemy hands, and reports said that the civilian population from Sankt Petersburg is slowly evacuated towards the countryside.

Russian Baltic Sea Fleet is located in the Gulf of Finnland. It consist of 2 carriers, 12 destroyers and 20 cruisers.

American military advisors have cleary stated that the situation in the Baltic States is very dire, and it is likely that a Russian offensive in the area combined with an armed rebellion of the russian minority will lead to catastrophic results. They suggest that combined british - canadian -italian - portuguese army (around 70 000 men) stationd in Sweden and southern Norway should be transfered as quickly as possible to Lithuania, leaving Sweden to be protected only by 50 000 men of its national army. Howewer, tranferring such a large amount of men would leave Sweden and Norway vulnerable to possible landing operations made by Russians. Nevertheless, those who propose such a movement argue that the presence of the combined British - Norwegian fleets in the Northern Sea and the presence of the British Fleet in the Baltic can counter such attempts.

The FBI has brought into your attention a special situation back at home. In the southern states, especially in those with a large hispanic population, activates a group of pro-Russian hispanic youngsters. They came mainly from lower stratus of the society, and they already started to organize demonstrations against the coming war, while vandalising and burning US flags on several occasions.

2. What should be done to them ?
a) They should be ignored to prevent further trouble with the hispanic comunity.
b) They should be put to trial.
c) They should be "made dissapeared" to the general public, then sent to Guantanamo for "questioning" as they might be in fact KGB agents

1A: If we lose the Baltic states Finland will be isolated.

2B: Charge them with treason or something along those lines, but only charge the ringleaders, since they would be the ones most likely to be supported by Russia.

a). As quickly as possible

How big can the odds really be that the Russians sends a huge army across the Baltics while we invade their very country? Not big, and certainly not enough to defeat 50 000 soliders before we can either cut them off from supply or divert troops there to destroy them. They would also have to get past our ships, and I doubt that Russia have that ammount of paratroopers ready for an foreign adventure such as that at a moment like this.

a) They should be ignored to prevent further trouble with the hispanic comunity.

I think that the best is not to stir the ants' nest, but we should really become aware that this could turn into another Vietnam, where home opinion can bring us low.

Northern European Front, as of 2 March 2010 military contingents from Sweden and Norway started to be transferred into the Baltic States. On the international scene, China declares that it will remain neutral trough the course of the war.

03 March 2010

5 : 11 , local hour : empty car filled with explosives explode near one bar freqvented by US military personell in Riga. The deflagration kills 50 soldiers and injures an extra 327 person, 120 of them in critical state. Most likely the explosion was set by KGB agents or by Russian partisans.

04 : 30, local hour : Fighting errupts in central Tallin as Estonian police backed by US and British army try to hunt down a number of Russian partisans. 3 partisans dead, 5 british soldiers injured, 41 estonian policeman dead, unknown number of enemyes escape into residential areas.

06 : 20, local hour : Sabotage at major factories in Lithuania and Latvia. No electricity for Riga and Vilnius.

08 : 45, local hour : Large explosions where heard in Smolensk, Russia.

12 : 30, local hour : Chechen terrorists attempt takeover of a state university in Moscow, Russian Special Forces appear on the scene quickly, violent fighting erupts. After 15 minutes of fightings, terrorists surrender.

13 : 30, local hour : Russian president acusses the US administration of "supporting terrorist and fascist ideologies".

16 : 32, locah hour : There are reports that numerous Russian aircrafts have take-off from their bases and are heading towards Finnland and the Baltic States...

4. AFGANISTHANI FRONT

Overall situation :

Situation in Afganisthan as of March 2010 has not improved very much from the the past years. Taliban activity is still high in the mountains at the border with Pakistan.

Military :

US has about 20 000 soldiers still active, including 1500 members of the Special Forces (Delta Force) wich still hunts down Taliban leaders to the south. An extra 5000 British soldiers are present, and another extra 5000 from Poland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Thailand, Japan, South Koreea, Australia and New Zealand. The Afgan National Army is composed of around 50 000 soldiers, howewer without the support of the US army, it is not an effective fighting force. Local tribe leaders might offer extra support if needed, howewer their tactics and weapons are obsolete.

In the Arabian Sea, off the coast of Pakistan, there is an operational naval battlegroup with 1 carrier, 6 destroyers and 8 cruisers.

To the South, Afganisthan is beeing bordered by Pakistan. Pakistani guvernment declared (officialy) that it will not interfere in a war between the US and the Russian Federation, howewer will permit the US airforce to survolate its teritory at anytime. There have been secret proposal made by Pakistani guvernment to allow US land convoys to cross its teritory, but only in exchange for military equipment which is likely going to be used against India in their frontier wars. Military advisors recomand caution, as this may significantly worsen the relationships with India, wich as of yet has offered tacit support for US.

To the east, there is a small border area with neutral China.

To the west, Afganisthan is bordered by Iran, and it is expected that this front will see action in the coming months.

To the North, the borders are with Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, former Soviet Republics. The situation is critical. All of these countries posses on their soil as of this moment active Russian military bases. While not openly pro-Russian, the CSI states will likely join the Russian army sooner or later if war brokes out. CIA claims that this is just a matter of time.

In this case, attacked both from the north by CSI armyes and in the west by Iran, the situation of the US and allied forces in Afganisthan might became extremely critical.

A number of commanders suggested that it is better for you to retreat from Afganisthan, as it would be very hard to defend against such an attack. Howewer, most of the military advisors insist that Afganisthan should not be left, and the natural defences should be used to a maximum once the enemy starts to invade.

Also, Talibans are creating lots of troubles in the south. They are not that numerous, as years of fighting against US troops have largely reduced their numbers, but they are still capable of launching attacks against convoys and military bases.

1. Should US and allies withdraw from Afganisthan ?
a) Yes, as urgently as possible.
b) No.
c) Only if the CSI states join Russia.

2. Should US give Pakistan military equipment in exchange for the permission to cross its teritory in land convoys ? (only if Us troops remain in Afganisthan, also this will seriously worsen relationships with India)
a) Yes.
b) No.

1C- if the CSI states join Russia we'll be seriously outnumbered, but otherwise stay.
2A- we need Pakistan for easier supplying of Afghanistan.

1C - No one likes to fight an outnumbered battle.
2B - India is much more valuable to the West than Pakistan is.

India is so more powerful than Pakistan, so I think that it would be in our best intresst to maintain good realations with India.
