Meeting Orgahs (or other Internet Friends) in Real Life
I've just had the rather excellent experience of meeting @Gregoshi in real life...(hi Greg! Nice to meet you and welcome to Melbourne!)
This was the first time I've met up with someone in the 'real world' that I've previously only known online. Despite my wildest fears he did not attempt to axe murder me and it was a very pleasant encounter which I'm sure we'll repeat (unless he thinks I'm likely to axe murder him :laugh4:)
Has anyone else here ever met anyone from the Org in real life and how did it go down?
Have you ever met anyone from online in real life and had a weird or amusing experience in the process?

Re: Meeting Orgahs (or other Internet Friends) in Real Life
Ill be in Norway for about 6 weeks this summer so I really want to meet some Norwegian Orgahs. Though I do not know if @HoreTore will be up for that.
Though I am facebook friends with a number of Orgahs like @Lemur and @Fragony.

Um, the axe was in my backpack. However, I decided fairly quickly that I liked you and so the axe remained stowed. ~;) I had a great time meeting you as well. Too bad you had to go back to work. A repeat is definitely in order.
The only other internet/Orgah friend I've met was barocca. He is a heck of a nice guy too. Funny, I had to travel halfway around the world to meet fellow Orgahs.
I'm Facebook friends with about ten or so Orgahs. Odd that I can't seem to pull up a list of friends by category to get a precise count.

I wish I could meet you phonicsmonkey but that ticket is damn expensive :laugh4:
If anyone is coming to Sunny Beach in Bulgaria for the summer, shoot me a PM. Especially @Sarmatian who is really close by.

Re: Meeting Orgahs (or other Internet Friends) in Real Life
i met a few australian orgah's (centurion and pevergreen + his mates if i recall correctly) but they arent active on this site anymore I think. and ive had alot of e-conversation with Craterus, but hes not active anymore either.
1 guy I happened to meet because we had mutual friends and it was only later that we found out that we were both also acquainted on the .org (Wizard II)

Ah, I will put you up to that!
Because beer in Norway is stupidly expensive.

It's highly unlikely that I will be visiting Bulgaria any time soon, but I will contact you if I do, for sure.

Re: Meeting Orgahs (or other Internet Friends) in Real Life
I met Gaius Scribonius Curio once at a conference in Sydney. Neither of us had planned it. We just happened to be talking during the conference dinner and he started asking me about if I knew about Numidian things. I said that I didn't and asked why, then he mentioned he was part of the EBII team. I asked if he was on the Org and it turns out we both knew each other and had played mafia together. It was a really weird but awesome moment.

Re: Meeting Orgahs (or other Internet Friends) in Real Life
Sasaki and I met in NYC for a museum explore and bite to eat back when he was going to college and I was living/working in Jersey. It was interesting to meet the guy who brought me here to the Org. Our online rivalry has made things awkward since, but *shrugs* ... I don't hold anything against him, and I don't sense that he holds anything against me. We just see things differently and have different strengths and opportunities for growth is all. I'm glad we met.

It is like this: my wife loves to play SCRABBLE and she is quite good. Mops the floor with me when we play. It seems all you do in the Philippines is play SCRABBLE. ~;) I'd quickly be the third wheel.

Re: Meeting Orgahs (or other Internet Friends) in Real Life
Bah Gregoshi, there is world class diving here, beautiful mountains and volcanoes, cheap boats for hire, and the further you go into the province the cheaper it gets. I can boat to an island, rent a room for the weekend, hike and take photos, drink like a fish, eat like a pig, and then boat back Monday morning in time for school: total price, less than 100 USD

Give him a slap in the face for me please. Just because it's different doesn't mean it isn't love.

Re: Meeting Orgahs (or other Internet Friends) in Real Life
Oh man, now I feel like an outcast. Haven't had the chance to meet with anyone from the org and I don't have any Facebook friends either. I guess that's why I am the outsider  jokes aside I'm down in Cyprus and if any of you guys wander around these parts I would look forward to meeting with you. Also it would be cool to chat on Facebook so if any of you are interested than send me a pm. Especially our dear moderators are welcome. (perhaps I can trick them this way for a senior membership this year :laugh4: )

Re: Meeting Orgahs (or other Internet Friends) in Real Life
Hooahguy just asked if he could crash on my couch here in Sthlm... Of course I agreed :)
I'm always up for meeting fellow Orgahs:)
Oh, and PM if you want to add me on FB :)

Re: Meeting Orgahs (or other Internet Friends) in Real Life
Same here. Met Mouza back in blazing days of Gezi protests in Istanbul, for the first time and friends with a couple of other fellows on Facebook.
If you ever stop by the capital, Ankara, let me know.

Re: Meeting Orgahs (or other Internet Friends) in Real Life
Mouz at the protests, I expected more of this http://internationaljustice.rnw.nl/d...ead/denker.jpg (with a pipe), kinda surprised heh

Re: Meeting Orgahs (or other Internet Friends) in Real Life
Met up with HoreTore yesterday. Went out for indian food then went for drinks. And in the morning I tried to teach his students something. Really nice/awesome guy, would have drinks with again.

Re: Meeting Orgahs (or other Internet Friends) in Real Life
Lemur was kind enough to send me an early invite for Google+ back when it was going to crush Facebook. :laugh4:
That's as close as I've come to interacting with non-avatar .org persons. I am on Facebook as well.
