my favorite by far is rome: total realism
my favorite by far is rome: total realism
I've been playing RTR before. This time I installed TE (Terra Expundae or something like that).
TE is a bit simpler than RTR but still on a large map and with a united Rome and some new interesting factions (Epirus and Bactria), and many hoplites of the traditional non-phalanx type.
I enjoyed both mods, so can't say what I prefer. Roma Surrectum looks good too.
For a good overview remember to also check TWcenter.net
Nope - no sig what so ever.
hmm ok ill check that out.
LOTRTW. Beautiul scripting, beautiful units, modfoldered with a map... What more could a man want?

I'm currently infatuated with XGM (Extended Greek Mod). Rise of Persia is pretty good, as is R:TR (Rome: Total Realism) and IBFD (Invasio Barbarorum).
WARNING! This baseline signature should never appear on screen!
I love the ibfd series, and the rise of persia mod. I also love Chivalry total war, and am now a member of their team. but my sympathies are with Europa barbarorum (EB). one of the best, if not the best, out there. but that's my opinion, you all can think what you want.

End of Days
Terrae Expugnandae
Bare Bones Wars
Are my top three so far. I'm still looking for more to play...
Currently, XGM & EB.
I installed and played RTR once, but didn't care for it. Wasn't what I'd hoped it would be.
I did like the map, though.

For Calvin and TosaInu, in a better place together, modding TW without the hassle of hardcoded limits. We miss you.
My favourite still stays a mini-mode "Magnus Mundus" (both for RTW and BI).
Recently I downloaded and started to play Troy Total War - this mod became one of my favourites, I liked it really much, new map, units, nations - so great.
Plus, Ogniem i Mieczem TW - a great piece of work

Lord of the Rings Total War caught my eye.

No 1:Europa Barbarorum.
No 2:Invasio Barbarorum - cannot compare to EB, by then probably no computer game could. It is still a very promising mod, with a albeit needing some more work.
No 2:Paeninsula Italica - Radices Imperii looks very interesting and I will probably download it soon.
(IB & PI are equal on my importance list)
I'm really looking forward to a Bronze Age mod with a wide scope (and factions like Achaeans, Egyptians, Mittani, Assyria, Hittites, Scythians, Mycaneans/Minoans, Thrakians, etc) but oddly enough, no one had tackled this task yet.
Wow- where to begin? There are quite a few that I play regularly.
For RTW/BI- The Fourth Age Total War, End Of Days, End Of Days II - Lycan Rising, Troy Total War, 58 B.C.- Caesar Imperator, The First Triumvirate.
For Alexander- Extended Greek Mod, Lord of the Rings Total War
And for MTW2- Crimson Tide, Lands To Conquer, Clouds Across Europe
