    Broken Crescent 3 HotSeat. Now Looking for Players

    [B]CURRENT PLAYERS INTERESTED : 16 possibly filled

    I just finished the Final Save, Every faction is very well developed. It only took me 26 hours of testing and redoing...... *Head bangs on wall*
    I am having my final save prelooked at by 3 different people to make sure that this is fair.
    The Game year is 1184.
    No Plauges are detected.
    Each faction as a strong point somewhere. Some how.
    Looking for Players now.
    48 Hour Normal Timelimit for players.
    I am looking for a full game. AI will ruin the game.

    I see more of people's friends, that's a good thing, but the other thing I don't want to see is any actions based in the game due to OOC between people. Remember. The Game is Diplomacy IC, not OOC. :O

    Well guys, I've been reading on the two Broken Crescent hotseat games, They are both very interesting, I had an idea though to make this game more... Player to player interactive? I have a possible game of 16 players, thing is though, No rebels, Each of the 16 nations will have 10-12 settlements. Each having ballanced of each. With that saying, Each nation will have ALOT of possible allies or enemies at there borders. Each nation has a Very developed Castle and a Very Developed City, and then there will be numerous of Large towns and Castles, and there will be a few odd ball wooden castles / small towns.
    Each of the nations will have full un fogged cover by Watch towers by borders and by very long roads. The 1st spy will be in an inner city, And your armies will be deployed around the borders. For this to to work ofcourse we may need a 3 turn truce, For diplomacy talks, such, No one has trade rights even! This map will be all about Alliences and such, Being that theres no rebels, Pretty much You, and 15 other people. :o

    Basic hotseat and this game's rules

    - I am the mod of this game. If you think any one is abusing any of the lower rules, or you will be absent, Please contact me. I will deal with it. Thanks.

    - No attacking on the 1st turn. Let every one get ready and all of that good stuffs.

    - All passwords should be reported to me in PM or privately. Incase if you are absent I will take your turn, how ever, If you have an Alliance with another person, and treat it as a serious alliance, then Your Alliance member should play the game for you instead of me. Please tell me if you do this, and also, Please tell every one in advance if you are going to go on a vacation or something. So we arn't waiting for 2 days going. "Where did Player XYZ go...?" Just it would be awesome ofcourse. ^^

    - If you miss your turn for three times, And not report before hand or during of how busy you are or something. I will hold a vote on a removal of you and another person may jump in for you. The game must keep on moving.

    - I noticed that some Imams will be able to call Jihads. I am sorry to say but I will be banning Imam Jihads. Just because it is unfair. Sorry.
    I will allow you to call a Jihad on the IC diplomacy thread, but just not in the game. :D

    - Also, new rule, You CAN NOT make small cities and under, or castles and under your capital, They have to be either Fortress or up, Or Large city or up. Thanks.

    - All battles, including those between player-controlled factions, may be fought by the attacking player (against the VH AI), or auto-resolved.

    - Please send a private message to the next player in line to alert them that it is their turn.

    - Players are requested to compete in good faith and with a sporting spirit at all times.

    - No exploits. The following exploits are banned. This list is not exhaustive, and in considering a course of action the player concerned should have regard for the rule regarding sportsmanlike conduct. If there is any doubt about exactly what actions these exploits involve, or whether a given action which is not specifically banned would constitute an exploit, please seek guidance from the GM or other players before completing the relevant turn.

    - Re-loading of save game to play the turn again in a different way, or to create a different outcome.
    - Merchant fort exploit. Note: If some one reports you of having a merchant fort, and It is confirmed, I will kill all of your merchants. or make them so bad, that there - 8 financial. Or worst, I'll just - double the income that they make, until you take them out. ^^
    - Surround and destroy exploit (relating to agents, also to armies or ships engaged in battle. An escape route of at least one tile must be left.)
    - Deliberately setting up tribute deals which will result in a faction going more than 20k in debt.
    - Deliberately exchanging territories for the sole purpose of gaining a free garrison.

    Ok. First of all, You will most likely be surrounded. So, what best way to make sure that all fronts won't attack you!?, Diplomacy! Yes, It's a magical deal where you talk to different Nations, and make Deals, Pacts, Treaties, Declare War, Declare Cease Fire, Declare Alliences, Money Aid, What ever you can think of, Making friends in this game is KEY to success. If not, People will not like you, and gang up against you. Almost 100% defeat. Here is just a few tips to help you in this game.

    - COUNTER SPIES - Yes, Counter Spies, What is Counter Spies basicly? I'll tell you, It is when you place a spy within your own city, castle, or fort, and leave them there. It lowers down other enemy spies chances by a VERY GREAT DEAL. Every faction could steam roll a faction in this if they do not have a counter spy. So... Wanna know how to take a settlement fast...? Well, it's.

    - MOBILE SIEGE WEAPONS - Yes, In this mod, I have given every one or most of every one the chance to build siege weapons, Which can bring down gates and walls, Very fast. Though, It is extremely slow. And if you don't protect it well, Your enemy will find it and kill it. So Protect them!, It's one of the most important units in your invasion armies!

    - TeamWork - Yes, Teamwork.Both of you are scared of a nation, or just wanting to defend eachother, or perhaps tag up and both beat the crap outa one nation? Well. Then you need alliances. These are very good things. As long as you can trust who ever is Allied with you... to not stab ou in the back when you do your half.

    - Keeping your Rep up! - Yes, This might be very important for you. If you go around raiding and sacking cities for no reason, a large gang may just come about and beat the living snot out of you, and your allies will sit there and won't do any thing. So please. If you are going to be a sneaky fox, Be sneaky about it. Or there will be a hundred hounds on you.

    - Keeping Track of the Game! - Ofcourse, This might be the single most important rule out of the most, If you want to play the game, Keep track with it! if not... Why you playing!?

    Wouldn't it be hard to balance the buildings and garrisons right? Some of the rebel places are guarded with massive armies and others have nothing other than walls. This would require extensive testing to get right...

    Not really, The rebels were put away, Right now I have the game already made, just making a few minor adjustments now, The game will be about 3-4 turns ahead, This also is good because the spawned stacks have been delt with. The only rebel towns are Arab desert, Tebet, and the place really up north, which is impossible to get to! Also, The turn will make all of the unrest go away for all of the settlements pretty much, Making them pretty stable.

    How did you decide how much garrisons to give each of the settlements? And have you changed any of the buidlings? I love this idea but I fear it may be unbalanced. (and fear I have little enough free time as it is )

    Well, At the moment, I have a save but still working on it, each nation has 2-3 stacks of armies that are outside, in forts. the cities have only 1-2 units each inside, Each of the stacks are set near the borders, but still, trying to get it at the moment so each faction so there around 15ish k of making money, and 15ish k getting taken out for armies, The income will increase once the player has started to obtain Trade with other nations. Right now like I said, There is one highly upped city and castle, Serves as the control center, All the rest are mostly lower towns with the basic stuffs needed in them, but still they can be upgraded much more, (such as EVERY city has a road, almost every city has a way to recruit a unit, such.) This is a HUGE task to balance out, and you have every right to fear that it may be unballanced, I'm basicly ripping out the rebels and saying who get's what! lol, If you have any ideas or inputs, throw it up and i'll take it in mind ofcourse!, but still, the current save i'm working out, Every one seems in the same area, (Besides the russains, Damn unite the steppes) So, I gotta destroy a few more buildings, build them, see how it is. Make sure the armies are set at the right place. If the game ever does start, There will be a few turn truce, so one can move where ever he wants adjusting to what his diplomacy is, Each Faction will have 3-4 Diplomats right off the start. All at the different borders. If this goes well, This game will be pretty neat!

    EDIT: I have decided to make each faction have the income of 20 - 22.5k All will be going to an army upkeep so the player will be gaining very little to no money. This will prolly be the best way for balancing

    Comforting to hear you have put so much work into this. Count me in, just need to think which faction to play. Would it be alright if I had a look at the save when it is finished, to get to grips with the new positions?

    Haha, Ramsus, You may think they are in trouble by how many borders they touch, but then think of it this way, How many possible allies that will use your land as military access to another land and also, If the Great Turks attack the sindh's... you'd think they wouldn't last long by that very long stretch of land! :O also, really nice trade! XD and on't worry, Sindh's armed up to the teeth with there stuffs, they only have 2 castles, but each of the castles are VERY VERY upgraded, it is one of the factions where i bend the rules alittle, due to the fact that they have so much against them, but don't worry, they still will make the same! Sindh is not for the scared! Georgia has some goodies, Like considering that there capital is only castle type in the whole middle / west. making there castle better. :o

    EDIT: Also! I have now included that every nation that can build it, will get 1 city that can build all type of moble siege weapons!
    Also, Every faction that can, can now produce a single priest! / Imams!

    Alright, I see now what you were getting at in that email, Merlox. I'm in! I think I'll try Makuria, but I've got 1 request: Change San'a, Ta'iz, and Aden to Makurian control and give Callula and Suqutra to Oman- It makes Makuria more contiguous without damaging Oman.

    Edit: Also, Damascus should go to KoJ to balance things out over there.

    That would be a good idea, but considering that the areas you listed for the kingdom of M has non of your religion on it what so ever, and so much of Imam's, (basicly 0% of Mar, and a 71% of imams.) It would be pretty bad, And for the damascus, It's an islam holy site basicly, also, back to the religion.

    My picking areas would have been ALOT easier if i would have considered forgotten religions.

    also, (and I'm not suggesting you should try too hard for historical accuracy, but it's worth mentioning anyway) at the time the game starts Damascus was ruled by Nur-a-Din, not by the KoJ

    I understand in BC1.5 they will be introducing a Zengid Sultanate as a separate faction to reflect this..

    Ok, The test subject is made, but for some reason the uploader is being dumb, If you want to see the map for BC3 Test, you may, All factions do not have passwords and it just started turn w/e at year 1778.

    Btw, i forgot to turn dev-cheats off in my cfg due to i had to re-install my BC... Any way I can change it back to it being back to no dev coun?

    I'm glad people are taking an interest of this game, And for all who think this will be like the old games, you are CLEARLY wrong, for example, Look at the kingdom of Armenia, Kingdom of Sindh, There nations do not look good, but they have enough upgraded cities to be very feared, And remember guys, this is all about diplomacy, If some one wants to be rambo, i'm sure the 5 nations at there borders will just blitz all that one and eat it up, But if this works right, After the truce, a single war could spark World War. XD, and also don't forget every nation has Massive unit productions now. Any ways, I tried to base this off of old medieval war, The objective for any country is to capture the capital, and the country wins, (Ofcourse, you could be as tricky as the russains as with napoleon, and when there town is siege, and garenteed loss, Destroy all buildings inside to hinder there advancement!)

    Any ways, I just wanna put this out that this game is Diplomacy!!! :O , any ways, Elite Ferret, Good choice on picking Armenia, They are not weak ^^ trusssst me

    Oh yes, I was going to do another buff, but i wanted all of your guys vote, I was thinking of putting 1 spy in every city, and 2 in the capital, for Counter spying, I realized that if a guy has a whorde of really good spies, they could litterly, Kill a nation withen 1 turn with out them even reacting! Please put your input!

    I don't mind changing factions if someone else really wants the Ayyubids.

    I'd probably pick The Khwarezm Shah as a second option.

    Great, I'll check the Ghazni situation out.

    I suppose this game will need to have all faction slots filled by human players. AI factions in this kind of game won't be very good.

    Update. Adding the ERE a minor city, Moving back alot of troops back from the northern border, like what Ask the pizza said, it kinda forces ERE to attack the russains which wasn't the idea. Playing out a few more turns so Kwazam isn't getting owned by the plague that badly... (Last time i rmeember that plague gets rid of 7k of profit. It kills them very fast.

    EDIT: Ok, fixed the Kwas so they arn't getting owned at the start of the game by a plague, fixed up the borders alittle, so it's more of a "Defencive" type than having huge stacks right at the borders. Also. Yes, you are right Barc, We need more players, If you want to spread the word of the new hotseat coming along, that would be great!

    I haven't played this kind of hotseat games before but I'm interested.

    Perhaps Ayyubid Caliphate to me or The Kingdom of Jerusalem.

    I'm not sure at the moment which one I'll take...
