I am assuming that a tie results in no lynching... it intimates as much in the FAQ but doesn't exactly spell it out . And thanks to Reenk Roink...

Given that the usual unhelpful first round silliness is going on, there is absolutely no good reason to lynch anyone.

Actually, it's based upon host discretion. The results of a tie during the day phase for whom to lynch will result in either-

A) Both are killed
B) One is randomly killed
C) There is a runoff, and the first person to gain another vote is killed
D) No one is killed
E) There is an extension on the time limit

Hope that might clear it up a bit, although Reenk could probably add a few more possibilities to my list
