The ETW Demo is Coming Soon!

Does anyone know if Steam still does that crap where you have to be on the internet to play your offline games? I haven't had any issues recently with games like HL2 but I'm not sure if that's luck or whatever...

I havn't ever tried a steam demo, so I'm unsure.


One thing though, on a beta anyway. If you check the box that says update automatically, I found steam would not let me run the game offline because it thought I required it to update automatically online.

With a demo though, your not doing a mutliplayer online beta, so in reality you should just download the files and then that should be the end of steam.

While steam is a launch device for empire, i'm not sure it will be required to launch the demo, as the demo will most likely have no multiplayer.

I said if CA did something with the demo i'd give them a day or two. So I'm willing to go on the lazy side of, hey it's a weekend, give us a break.

Though my warning stands, if I don't see some screenshots or something in the demo section, i'm going to go demo fanatic on this place like whoa :P

So, if the demo is about to be out, does this mean the game is pretty much finished except for some post-production stuff? CA is not moving the release date?

CA has confirmed the release date and given that they already pushed back the game a couple weeks it's a good bet.

No one can be 100% sure of course, and things can change.

Though going by evidence seems a good bet.


Of course we'll know for certain........once we have....the demo...

No one knows, and the fact the demo page has nothing yet, is disturbing.

I am hoping they do it all in one big chabang, and just use demo page as a summary of how awesome the demo they just released is.

UK and Netherlands get it on the 3rd, everyone else has the 4th for the date…even the US…didn’t look at the ANZ site though…
