Is it just me or are the majority of screenshots in this thread set to medium or low graphics?

I guess not many people have a PC powerful enough to run it. Which is a shame because it looks extremely good on high.

Plus it has a setting for Ultra. Ultra. Who wouldn't want to set their graphics to Ultra?

Mine are on high, with grass and shadows off.

Some say that the game will be much better than the demo in performance. I hope so.

Probably will, CA have time to optimise it for all systems. They don't have to rush it to try and quell Polemists fanatic anger.

Shadows went haywire on mine, and decided to band around my cavalry, making them all look like they were wearing stereotypical french shirts.

Turning them up to full fixed it .

I'm on ultra baby and 1400x900 resolution. (But no AA.. Shadows and grass on High)

Nice! It looks rather good doesn't it? I can't wait to see what the different kinds of terrain will look like in the game proper. This engine seems really good at doing realistic terrain and foliage.

Well, I tried the custom settings for graphics and it only let me set them to medium in most cases. (It didn't show an option for anything higher.)

I am on Ultra at 1920 x 1200 with 8xAA. My 30" monitor should be in soon so hopefully I will still be able to get ultra and 2560 x 1600 with hopefully some AA.

This game looks far better then I expected. It looks a lot better the M2TW with a lot higher res textures.

Oh and there are now facial animations on each unit now too. It is kinda cool but they don't do much/don't have too many animations. Yup this Total War has a lot of firsts.

First person is SOOO cool. To bad I lost cause I was watching my ship get ripped apart.

These are on Medium for the most part, I fiddled around with the settings and updated my video drivers and did a system defrag and a system clean up lol. The game runs much better now although I think I might invest in a new card after ETW is released though since it's the best I can do besides buying a new computer which I can't right now.




I thought I was a dead man when the French kept in formation and started turning around me but somehow I managed to fight them off and get the upper hand.

The following is on LOW settings, as many noted the demo runs rather slow for some reason. I put the settings to Low and I updated my Direct X which came with the demo, it seemed to help a bit.

It's a technology you need to research on the campaign map, but the clever modders have managed to unlock it.

Modded Brandywine, no special traits added, normal difficulty, overcast skies. The AI wasn't very bright, I only had a light force at the other crossing but their general only tried to cross once and I sent him packing. As you can see they got bogged down at the crossing, I lost two units in the battle with another severly weakend.

What I found odd was that the game called it a "close victory" I only lost or had routed two units and even had some in reserve that never saw combat, plus the Mexicans never crossed the river and made it to my side.

One more set:
Modded Brandywine using tutorial map and placement, no special traits, normal difficulty, heavy rain. The AI did alright for itself, I set up to the left and center of town, the Spanish came from the front and then attacked my weaker left flank and turned it in, I had to pull back to the center. At one point the Spanish snuck up a cav unit went round the right and behind my center and attacked my arty.

Someone needs to mod the Demo, now, so I can play as any faction within the Demo!

Max settings at 1920 x 1200 and 8 x AA. AA works for me. If it doesn;t seem to work then you can try forcing it on in the either catalyst control center (if your using ATI) or Nvidia control panel (if your using Nvidia)

This is interesting. You can have massive armies now or very small armies. Look he only has 8 units in that one unit. That is pretty cool. Wonder if it can go lower.

Modding has always been legal. Since the demo is free and the files are given for free I don't see any how any legal issues could arise .
