We actually won this battle in the end though the AI put up a hell of a fight. It was one of those rare battles where the AI just came straight on and duked it out musket to musket instead of fiddling about trying to outflank me or suicide on the artillery.
Many of my first line battalions actually fired off all their ammunition and had to be relieved by battalions from the reserve. As soon as the AI detected a drop in firepower they tended to come in with the bayonet so the relief battalion had to be brought forward and paasage of lines timed to ensure that the firing was kept constant.
I lost about a third of my army and my General 'Stenburger' was killed by a stray cannon ball towards the end of the fight. The Russians even managed to rally and make a second attack towards the end of the battle but fortunately I had a cavalry regiment in reserve so the next time they broke I made sure they kept running. They even tried forming square at one point as my cavalry moved forward but fortunately it was within range of my artillery and so got blasted by cannister.

Some sweet boarding action!
Nice! I like the green coated marines on the US ship. Are you using the naval crew mod I read about?

Mailman, great pics! but i could never for the life of me risk trying to board a ship. too risky, and i lose too many ships.

Surely, that depends on the odds. I use boarding quite a lot in my game particularly against galleys that tend to have quite small crews. A sloop can easily board and capture a light galley simply because it has twice the number of men. Some pirate ships also have remarkably small crews, and its easier to take them by boarding than trying to sink them.

Some screens from a recent online match. I did pretty well against the americans while my team mate was destroyed horribly by the ottomans. I made my last stand on a hill. A tactical retreat where I lost maybe 400 men and got the least of my kills.
