Yesterday over 700 posts we're posted only in MTW. Imagine as release gets closer and closer...

At this time, we can't really go a lot over 10000 total for all forums or we will be shut down, like last time.

So we do close and delete a lot of stuff that a couple of months ago would have stayed on.

We need the space that simple. So go easy on poor mods and admins that are trying to back our mods, who delete stuff.

Now project yourself in the near future, near or just after the release of MTW. Think about how much extra space the editing, the tech support, the MTW will need. Don't count on the Shogun forum to come to halt quickly, too many dedicated fans.

Now imagine the extra work needed to keep this site at par, think of the extra staff needed and that more staff=better coordination and communication.

Think about the tidal wave of newbies...

I am glad that we are trying to help heal wounds right now, because we will have to get our act together as a community soon, sooner than you may think.

We have a lot of talent in different fields here, nobody can dispute that, can we come together and roll up our sleeves. The contribution of many will be needed

Hi... I do know about the tidal wave of newbies headed our way. Just imagine what will happen once MTW goes gold. That will be put on headlines on a whole bunch of game sites. That is when I believe that the newbies will roll in with questions and the lurkers will finally register. That is why I put together the info index at the .com, and that is why I hang out on the forums.

When we provide answers and a friendly reception, we make the newbies welcome. We encourage them to discuss the game, their history, and to come forward with whatever problems they may have with the game. Some people do more than just play the game; they take active part in the community. We need more of these people. Why? Simple.

A bigger community will get what it wants more often.

Which only goes to reinforce Sir Kuma's concerns. We have to be civilized and helpful for the good of the future community. A massive community definitely holds more weight in it's opinions, and will be handled with plenty of respect. So, in conclusion...

With open arms to all, and with peace in our forums we will rule CA by invitation.

Kuma was that a 'Don't ask what your .org can do for you, ask what you can do for .org' speech and do you mean you are looking for moderators and/or the spammers to slow down?

And does that mean I have to give up my one liners and quips
Our genes maybe in the basement but it does not stop us chosing our point of view from the top.

I dont think there will be a tidal wave of newbies, not a huge wave, and I think calling them newbies isnt rite, I htink a "tidal wave of interested people looking to ask questions and comment who havent been here a long time." woul've been a better assumption, lol!

First question: Yes and no. I am looking for understanding from all forum users regarding some decisions we have to make concerning closing threads and deleting.

I am not only talking about mods, i am talking in a larger sense about helping out in any way people can and see fit. And you do not need an official title to do so.

Second question: NO, no, no do not give up your one liners and quips. The same thing goes for the *Jags* of our forums.

I am here a long time while I use my computer for work while I write my fiction so I would be willing to help out.

Kuma, a question though. Do you give website space on your server to clans?

Kuma, I would like to see more archives, like the strategic one we have but about the Medieval game. This tidal wave of "interested people looking to ask questions and comment who havent been here a long time" and of course the tidal wave of (mostly less informative) threads could easily sweep away the threads with valuable information.

Moreover, it would be nice to have some order within this archive. I am sure that there will be hundreds of people asking the same questions over and over, an orgainsed archive could save us from neadless repetition and could save the "interested people looking to ask questions and comment who havent been here a long time" from starting new threads about the same topic.

To put it differently: this forum is about information. If you want more efficent use of web-space you have to organise the more efficent use (hence the more efficient flow) of information.

that's nonsense and you know it, the quatro post in the ! a new link thread would've been much faster if you'd edited your post because of the flood control feature .

no offense but you can just admit it.
I admit I have done my fair share of spamming but I intend to get my last 4 posts in an honorable way...

Hasn't anyone told you that spamming increases the heartrate and leads to early death? I'm leaving at the beginning of september otherwise I'd offer my body and soul for the org, but rest assured I've wrapped loo roll around my head out of solidarity.

It's for the community to have a chance to decide HOW the Org will transform/adapt in anticipation of the upcoming MTW.

Perhaps it is a little unclear in the title.

Plus temporarily the forum is being used to discuss the problems between a few of the community members and D_D, which the discussion I believe is almost at an end...
