Deguerra, I'm open to suggestions... for more kingly arms...

I wanted my CoA to reflect the powers of the King both in times of peace (wheat ear) and in times of war (sword)...

perhaps a sceptre rather than the wheat? wheat seems so peasanty to me :D

but in general, i feel that we need something else. will have a think.

i'm afraid my internet is a bit...dead at the moment, should hopefully be better soon, so downloading .svg files is proving difficult

Off-topic: Is there a list of who's who regarding starting characters? I understand AG is Duke of Brittany and Tristan is king, but I only found that out from reading this thread - it'd be so much easier to remember if there was a list posted somewhere.

And it looks as if I'll have to be very careful with Tristan as king.

    mkay Tristan, here's an idea:

wheat replaced by sceptre, add the Oriflamme (alleged banner of Charlemagne, as you may well know http://www.crwflags.com/FOTW/FLAGS/fr_orif.html and battle flag of French Kings) in the background for some more French (well Frankish) symbolism. Waddaya think?

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

edit: there appears to be at least one other version of the Oriflamme, which does its name slightly more justice. None the less, I do kinda like the flowery one:

Ok deg. I'm sticking with your latest version.

The fleur de lys is subtle but there.

It's some how a bit too orange and red though. Can you help?

well currently we've got the colours on one side reversed on the other. I can add some different colours (ie make the dragon green), but that may make it too busy. Will see how it looks.

    Hang on.

    Radical suggestion.

Make the main back shield the white and blue Britanny shield.

Then stick a small Rohan shield with the red back ground and yellow diamonds in the upper left.

Put the Kings shield bottom right and stick the red saxon dragon in the middle.

    What do you think?

to be honest, i think it will be too many shields with not enough nice subdivisions. but i will show you how it looks, i could be wrong.

in the meantime, here's one alternate colour scheme:

    hmm that's certainly better.

The yellow fleur de lys seems a little hazy though.

    so here's your suggestion:

personally, I think there are too many stand-alone bitsies without something to hold them together, but let me know what you think:

as for the other one, i've darkened the border of the fleur de lys:

    Ok mine looks crap.

you can just say that Deg

So last idea before I leave you alone.

Turn the dragon red and put the French kings shield (Light blue and little fleurs) on the bottom right diagonal section.

When you get a minute Prince Louis will no doubt need a CoA as well. I'm really not particular, something martial with perhaps some family elements drawn from the King's own.

I like it, but would it be possible to angle a sword or mace across the center shield? Louis is meant for war.
