Thread: Themed clans and tournaments/leagues

I was not sure where to post this, so I decided to post it both in the barracks and the Jousting field.

I wonder, are there any themed "roleplaying" clans.
    Such as a Crusader clan.
Where everyone would play with crusader units, and units that were "historically" fighting side by side in the crusader kingdoms? Such as Knights Templar together with order foot soldiers, and Turcopoles. (And no infidel playing with the Clan tag&#33

And I wonder are there any "roleplaying" leagues or tournaments? Such as, Now we're playing the crusades tournament, Players B, C, and D take the role of The Crusaders and order knights. While player A and E take the roles of the Moslems under Saladin.

At heart, I am a roleplayer and I would very much like to hear about a clan such as this. And above all, a clan such as this that is themed around Landsknecht mercenaries

I know leagues such as this existed in Mechwarrior 4 (okay, not the same game at all, but still). Where I was part of the Northwind Highlander Clan that played in Leagues set in the Battletech universe.

Not many clans are role play based but many people bring a role playing elemnet to the clan or the community:)

I think most clans are roleplaying to some extend.

Politics, intrigues, alliances, grudges, rivalry are always present and part of the game.

Bit of a twilight zone perhaps, but very present...fun, but also dangerous...if not lethal.

Someone should write a book about it.

    Diplomacy is dead.
There are nearly no intrigues, no big alliances, no real Clan wars. Even if it is almost impossible in a war game, most of the clans are at peace. They fight to knock out ronins strolling about their lands or they do training battles to keep their skills alive.

    Enough sad words said

When meeting with a sudden shower, you try not to get wet and run along the road. By passing under the eaves of houses, you still get wet. When you are resolved from the beginning, you will not be perplexed, though you will still get the same soaking. This understanding extends to all things.

well unlike playing boardgames with friends wher u can attack your friends while having a beer and kiss them goodbye when they leave such thing showed aint possible online, esp. not during the online campaigns. we are stuck in teh jacket of "honourable" behaviour, we donyt tell each other the truth in the forums, we do it behind each others backs. and we go down hand in hand....

Most..if not all..clans have their own forum. There is no need to declare the diplomatic part of the game dead, just because it's no longer allowed on the Org forums.

Clan forums, MSN, Roger Wilco, email, phone, net meeting, foyer, in game chat, EzBoard Chat, Bravenet chat, message in a bottle...don't tell me this is the only place for some decent backstabbing?

Hum... I think I got some answers.. I dont understand *Grins*, I didnt really mean Inter-clan diplomacy(Although that would be cool, the Knights Templar refuse to ally with the islam clans etc etc).

What I meant was.. are there any Crusader clans, Landsknecht clans, Mamluk clans, etc etc.

And if there were any leagues where clans were signed up to play different parts? like:

In this here tournament we're playing out the war in Outremer,
Clan B and C you are the Mamluk warriors in Saladins service.
Clan A you play the Knights Templar
Clan D, you play the wordly knights of King Balduin.
