Default Askthepizzaguy's fiendish super-secret hidden lab where he designs games

HEY HEY HEY!!! What are you doing in my lab? I thought no one knew the entrance to my lab was hidden in the Coat Closet! You'll want to watch this thread, because I am not entirely satisfied with my concepts for the Dark Knight (Batman) Large Mafia game, and the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny Small Game.

I think I want to start totally fresh. But I'd like to hear from you, what sorts of games would you like to play?

    THEME GAMES-

    1. Western-themed games (Outlaws and Lawmen)

    2. Television Show-themed games (Simpsons volume IV, Family Guy II, South Park II, others...)

    3. Classic Gangster games (1950's and prior decades mafia)

    4. Science fiction-themed games (Star Wars II, Star Trek III, my own concepts like the Snatcher)

    5. Medieval-themed games (Knights and Kings and Damsels in distress)

    6. Recent movie-themed games (Harry Potter, Batman, your choice)

    7. Horror-themed games (Psycho Mafia III, Chainsaw Massacre II, Saw)

    8. Pirate-themed games (Pizzaguy-brand imitation Pirate Ship-like non-copyright-infringement game)

    9. Fantasy games (Pizzaguy-brand imitation The Settlement-like non-copyright-infringement game)

    10. Slapstick (Humor-based games, like Murder Manor, my lolcats mafia games, and most annoying celebrity showdown, non-serious plot lines)

    Game Setup designs:

    1. Pizzaguy-brand imitation GeneralHankerchief-like non-copyright-infringement basic mafia (a few gangsters, lots of basic townies)

    2. Serial killers and Mob wars (multiple mafias, lone wolves and mafia, etc)

    3. Pro-town love-fest (your favorite pro-town roles: detectives and doctors and role-blockers, oh my!)

    4. Pizzaguy-brand trademark non-imitation kinky fetish mafia games (Oddball roles: Cults and bad detectives and bus drivers, oh my!) No Jokers Allowed

    5. Party games. Surprise me! (Some random game, unexpected combination of the above)

    6. I LIKE SHOUTING, LET'S FIGHT!!! (Duel-based mafia games with lots of violence, and who cares if the mafia wins, as long as someone's head gets decapitated with a fishing knife and then carved up like a pumpkin)

    7. Battle-Royale (Yes, I WANT MOAR RESIDENT EVIL-type non-mafia games)

    8. Mad Scientist (Golden Rule, the Snatcher, Psycho, World War II, and other creative concept games that break the mold or introduce brand-new game ideas)

    9. Other non-mafia games

    10. Mini-mafia games

All of the themes + Battle Royale! Wait no!

Free for all mafia where everyone is guilty of at least something! (in Horror Themed game!)! Wait no!

Science Fiction + Battle Royale! Wait no!

Fantasy + Pizza guy style mafia! Wait no!

    ...basically I have no idea

i sort of like the capo style 50's gangster classic with townie actions for mafia. of course thats only large games.

i love non mafia games, 30yw, cold war cataclysm, bss, etc. and battle royale of course.

Here's an idea I'm kicking around:

    Heroes and villains
    [Slapstick/Duel-Based Mafia game]

Description: Gameroom heroes and villains square off in an epic showdown. There are no lynches, there are only Duels. Who is in the duel is decided by the vote. Two players enter, one player survives. In the end, there will be one left standing. Duels will be decided by the rock, paper, scissors system. Objective is for either the heroes (townies) or the villains (Mafia) to be the last faction standing, but everyone wants personal glory. The villains will be able to murder using a modified rock-paper-scissors system where their victim loses even with a drawn match. (rock versus rock, villain wins) Obviously this makes murdering quite risky...

There will be both ultra-violent and comedic write-ups. Players will also be able to add their own distinctive flair to any duel involving themselves.

Being a huge fan of your Golden rule game, I would like to see another "mad scientist" game. Lets see if you can top Golden Rule

I have ideas for that, but I can't give details on what the set-up might be. The main point of those games is the hidden set-up, where you have to figure out what the challenge even is. Rest assured, I may use up a small game slot on a mad scientist game soon.

Wah! When I first saw this game in the Mafia Hosting Queue, I was really keen on signing up; I keep checking your Dark Falls game to see how close it is to conclusion so I have an idea when I might see it! I swear I didn't want to be Lucius Fox just to quote every Morgan Freeman line ever in the history of ever!

Are you able to share some basics regarding the game with us? What don't you like about the concept? :<

    10. Slapstick (Humor-based games, like Murder Manor, my lolcats mafia games, and most annoying celebrity showdown, non-serious plot lines)
Hahaha, you could make a Village People game! Six of the players are the group members, one is a murderer trying to slaughter them all for their crimes against ear drums!

    Mostly:

My enthusiasm for the Dark Knight movie has waned over the months since I requested to host it. There's only so long even a good movie remains interesting. Then, the game set-up... there would be Batman and the Joker, of course. But there weren't going to be enough other interesting roles... it would have mostly been about those two roles, and everyone else would have been murder fodder. And then there was game balancing... if either of those two major roles died early, what would the fate of the game be?

I would have to fiddle with the game set-up, and I just haven't had much time to do so since Resident Evil started. There's at least a month or two remaining in my Resident Evil game before I could handle hosting another game. There are some ideas, and some details with the game which give it redeeming value, which I'd rather not discuss in case I decide to go ahead with it. If I did, it would be purely based on player's interest.

Day one, everyone role claims and they lynch the odd (oddest?) man out.

A western theme would be cool.

As for type of game, I'm a bit burned out on the multiple mafia sorts (not enough to stop playing them, granted), but I do like weird roles.

Agreed. Single mafia games often work the best. With multiple groups, mafia are genuinely searching for mafia in thread, and often do a much better job of catching them then the town does (a la inishmore).

Weird roles and rules are always fun though

And pizza, if you are ever searching for setup ideas, check finished games from mafiascum.net. That "pick your power" mini was from a setup there. For example, check the list of roles here:

With regard to type of games, here I like your Mad Scientist games. I enjoy mob wars a lot too, but those I can get from other people/elsewhere.

...anyways, this actually seems like a solid idea. There's a pretty big cast from the looks of things and there's sure to be lots to do even if you don't get to be Fox, Falco or any of the other characters. If you feel enthusiastic about it compared to Dark Knight, I say go for it. :3

There ATPG goes again, hijacking other peoples' game styles for his own benefit!

This looks great! I expect the write-ups shall be as grand as if I had done them myself...

Oh come now, Sigurd totally stole my idea for star wars large mafia game. It's on Pizzaguy's corner, for the Crust's sake.

But then I realized that I, too, had stolen that idea from others on this site who have hosted Star Wars mafiaz before me. And they, too, stole from the people before them, and so on, and so forth, until you go all the way back to George Lucas, who stole the idea from some college kid who was on acid, but can't remember, because he was on acid.

So, I didn't see dibs on Star Fox, and you don't own the video game genre, and even if you do, it's not copyrighted.

I for one would LOVE the idea of some more Dark Falls style games. Especially something science fictiony, or horror themed.

Also, crazy mafia games with tons of serial killer and oddball roles, so I get a chance to be a crazy Resident Evil mafia serial killer, RIGHT this time :D

    EDIT:

I hope you know if I get any role with memes involved i'll just quote them.

I'm surprised you didn't call me on the fact that you only get 10,000 points for 100% completion of a level, which is just barely enough for the first extra credit.

I can already tell this will be fun.

Slapstick horror with the mad scientist theme.

Basically, do a Murder Manor IV and let me be in it.
