Default More background info on Japanese castles

Hi, I'm kyushudan & new, but I have had a quick look around some threads and can see that there is a mountain of knowledge here. Allow me, if I may, to throw a pebble on top.

There was one thread in particular, the castle sieges thread, that interested me, and the explanations Kagemusha offered were sensational. Anyway, it's off the back of that thread that I start this one.

There's a website called the "Japanese Castle Explorer", which I thought may be of interest to people who are excited about the upcoming Shogun 2. Heck, it may not be your cup of tea but for others it may serve as a tasty entrée before the main dish.

    Here it is:

But, do not miss the map:

    Great castles, thanks!

The map reminded me of some contests we had using a samurai mod for Viking Invasion MTW.

You are too kind Kagemushi. Yes, I've visited a few, but the truth is all the stuff I typed didn't really sink in. When I was reading you comments, I was like, Oh yeah, that's right!

I think it is great that we have new informed members like you, while the STW veterans are coming back in numbers. While Org doesnt host thousends of active members. The quality of posts and the homely and civil atmosphere make for it with an ease. If the Dojo II will become like it has been molding into. I think we have lot of great times ahead of us.

Another thought by the way. Would it be possible to give this place a more personal name? The first thing that springs in to my mind would be Honmaru, or the inner circle / Bailey.

An excellent explanation of basic castle structure, thank you!

Now back to the Japanese Castle Explorer, to apply what I have learned
