I wish to establish an estate in Alexandria (because it's the capital and the farming rate is 1.5) If the region matters but the exact spot does not, I'd put it where there is the least chance of an enemy army stepping on it. I think this would be a good spot:

The art of war, then, is governed by five constant
factors, to be taken into account in one's deliberations,
when seeking to determine the conditions obtaining in the field.

    These are: (1) The Moral Law; (2) Heaven; (3) Earth;
    (4) The Commander; (5) Method and discipline.

And who will be supervisors in your estate?
(OOC: Please choose a unit who will stay in the fort: Akontistai, Toxotai or Sphendonetai)

I would also wish to create an estate in Alexandria, possibly near the coast to avoid any bandits and enemy armies.

A unit of toxotai will suffice for my supervisors.

I would request also, an estate in Alexandria. The position should be along the coast as well if possible, but anywhere will do. And I will choose Akontistai to supervise.

I would request an estate in Alexandria, at the extremity of the road going down to Memphis, with a unit of Toxotai as the supervisors.

Is it possible that an estate of mine could be constructed just south of Hierosolymna? And I would like a unit of Toksotai as well.

It is my understanding that we can have either estates or trade ships but not both.

Ibn-Khaldun, I think you should edit the OP because this is the third time that the same mistake is made.

Skullhead, please note that you have to choose between either sea trade or an estate. If you choose sea trade, you should also say how many cargo boats you want built, and if you choose an estate, you need to pick a different region. Hierosolyma has a type 3 government and an estate requires the region to have a type 1 gov. I believe there's still room in Memphis.

Edit: that's what happens when you leave the screen before finishing a post. Oh well, at least I gave some extra information.

    Oh, Memphis then. No cargo.

    Will do that now!

Kydrogenes' estate will be built in Memphis then.

    Construction list:
    Alexandros Thraikikos: Estate near Alexandreia + Toxotai = 2000 + 411 = 2411 mnai
    Bothos Lapedou Kypriakou: Estate near Alexandreia + Toxotai = 2000 + 411 = 2411 mnai
    Ankhwennefer Philometor: Estate near Alexandreia + Akontistai = 2000 + 411 = 2411 mnai
    Meleagros Ptolemaios: Estate near Alexandreia + Toxotai = 2000 + 411 = 2411 mnai
    Satyrion Limyraios: Estate near Alexandreia + Toxotai = 2000 + 411 = 2411 mnai
Philadelphos Ptolemaios: 10 cargo ships = 5000 mnai Trade route: Alexandreia-Salamis
    Leontiskos Thraikikos: Estate near Memphis + Toxotai = 2000 + 411 = 2411 mnai
    Zoarchos Helios: Estate near Memphis + Toxotai = 2000 + 411 = 2411 mnai
Isigonos Kleopatrites: 6 cargo ships = 3000 mnai Trade Route: Alexandreia-Diospolis Megale
    Kydrogenes Epiphanes: Estate near Memphis + Toxotai = 2000 + 411 = 2411 mnai
    Timon Arrhidaeos: Estate near Memphis + Toxotai = 2000 + 411 = 2411 mnai

At the moment there are just two available trade routes from Alexandreia.
    They are:
    Alexandreia - Diospolis Megale
    Alexandreia - Tarsos

There are also the following trade routes available:
    Memphis - Hierosolyma
    Memphis - Salamis
    Diospolis Megale - Alexandreia
    Diospolis Megale - Hierosolyma
    Hierosolyma - Memphis
    Hierosolyma - Diospolis Megale
    Hierosolyma - Tarsos
    Salamis - Alexandreia
    Salamis - Memphis
    Salamis - Tarsos
    Salamis - Rhodos

I wouldn't choose trade route with Tarsos since it is besieged by the enemy.

OOC: I suggest you to open the save and check the settlement details if you want to know what trade routes are available.

Can't do that. Law E1.2 prevents it.

If so, how can I now expand my personal economics? I cannot build trade ships, for I already have an estate and I cannot build another estate, because I can have only 1 per province and the only other province with a type 1 government is full already.
OOC: Yes, there is 5 estate per province limit and you can build estates only in Type1 province. However, there are 2 of them(type1 provinces that is)

@TCV - True, did not think about it that way. So, in that case you can have your cargo ships.
