When I tried a SP game as Portugal I couldn't win a straight war versus AI Moors even WITH a Crusade called against them (from turn 1 at least), just FYI the AI Moors spawn stacks like no tomorrow. Spain can probably do better since it can spam knights with RR off.
If I join the Western team I'd talk to Nightbringer to check his path of expansion and base my faction choice on that.
For team East, the CS being human means the Fatamids are out (the most powerful Muslim faction on the map) because if the CS can't grab the wealth of Egypt they can't support the expensive unnique knight units they can churn out. For team E I have a special starting tactic in mind but I'll share it if I end up on that team
Silver what was that which you said about the CS when we were starting COG! 1? Their heavy infantry would offset the religious problems? You need the heavy infantry to assault cities vs. the AI and later to kill camping human armies in cities?

Yeah I know me chosing the Crusaders put's a heavy burden on the Eastern team so if my team mates are picked and they prefer we use Egypt (wich is understandable then i will take hungary for a roll)
Hungary is right next to (and starts weaker) than Poland, and SilverShield is the TR champion and he plays lead battles exclusively. I don't think starting next to him is such a hot idea unless you also get another team mate to 1v2 him. But if you don't start with catapults it will still be tough.

wow yeah ok good point. you know what just insert me as a random faction chosen by my other team mates in the East. :)
Don't take my words for anything more than advice. You are entitled to your own opinion and this best be worked out between team members.
@LooseCannon1 and @Mithridate will you guys pick a side?

*Cough* Erm... im having second thoughts about joining
But... cant let loose down :P I shall join his side and are not too bothered with what i play.
Theres no chance we´re gona make this AR only vs humans, especially since we would loose silvershiled?
Is there room on either side for us both? Id prefer Novgorod/kiev but im not too bothered as i mentioned^^
Egypt, England/spain. Will play even if we cant play the same team ofc
ur sitll up in Europa @Myth

Novgorod/kiev (novgorod is stronger, so novgorod?) for me and Loose as Egypt?
Sounds fine to me
OK if you two guys are on team E then I'm going to team W. Glad I didn't share that starting strat for team E.
Yes, I once again forgot about EI. I must do it tonight, though not much to do but move two stacks and build a unit.

im thinking about whether we would include that rule from wotk where one agent is free to infiltrate one settlement or fort a turn. i believe we d add something special to the game that way

That's fine by me though Late era allows for copious amounts of siege engines for all.

We could also use a "no Crusades/Jihads rule" or limit the number of armies allowed to join to one since we have one faction that cannot join them.
Crusades/Jihads are banned, see the post with the new rules a few pages back.
What do you guys find in the Moors? I never liked non-catholic factions overmuch but the Moors are downright boring.. Their roster is weaker than the Fatamid one and their HAs inferior to Mongol, Turk or Cuman HAs...

This one already play them in two hotseats, this one does not desire much to take them over... but perhaps it is for the best?
This one desires to give them up in Wfk2 anway, forcing myself to play and on the receiving end. They can recover but stand against a wee bit many.
this one is not sure if its right to give up the Wfk2 one... but if one gets the approval from others to do so, one shall take them here with the blessing of my team.

The Moors are on the Western team. I've decided I'll give them a try since both Silver and NB seem to love them as a faction.
So Poland/France/Moors vs. Crusader States/Novgorod/Egypt.
No Crusades/Jihads, one spy per turn infiltration is allowed and must be the second action in the turn after assassination attempts or the first one if no assasination attempts are to be had? Is everyone with me? We can get this thing rolling tomorrow as that's when i'll be back to my place.

all sounds good to me!
And I love them more for their position than their roster, although they have some decent units.

small update, the eastern team will be Novogrod/Turks/ Egypt
Sounds like we're all ready to go!
Good, I'll start the official thread for the new game.
