The rusty vessel seemed to be jumping up and down. Most passengers were seasick and begged the gods to end their suffering.
Land came in sight. The passengers tried to take a look at the abandoned island. The few lucky enough not to be seasick, grabbed their camera's and started to take pictures.
Suddenly the boat stopped; about 500 meters of water seperated the boat from the island.
The captain, an older man with an impressive scar on his left cheek and with more rotten than healthy teeth in his mouth yelled at his passengers:
"Out! Get out, now!"
The passengers were befuddled. Some thought the captain was joking and started to laugh.
With a hard look on his face, the captain picked up his shotgun.
"Out of this boat. You got what you payed for: an Island. Abandoned. And it's exclusive, since nobody else is here. Now, jump and start swimming, it's only 500 meters."
The tourists stared at their captain, they couldn't believe what they heard.
Having lost his patience, the captain aimed the shotgun just slightly above the heads of the tourists and fired as shot. It sounded like a canon.
One of his two crewmen suddenly had a machine gun in his hands and it started to burst out bullets.
Screaming and yelling, the tourists jumped into the water, most not even bothering to take their luggage with them and started to swim.
The machine gun stopped and they could hear the Captain yelling: "You payed for 4 weeks; we'll pick you up in five! That's right, you get an extra week, free of charge to make up for the inconvenience of the boat trip."

Mikhail had a difficult time not to burst out in laughter. This was not exactly what he expected, but boy, this was convenient!
"Find the stash. Leave no witnesses," was what the order of Vladimir came down to.
One look at Dimitri thaught him that he was having the same thoughts.
This one was going to be easy. Taking out these idiots wouldn't take too long and there would be plenty of time to go looking around the Island.
And the guys on of that rusty boat seemed like the perfect types to not ask questions in return for some hard cash.

Rules:
Basic mafia rules

There are three sides in this game: the tourists (townies), the serial killer (SK) and the mafia.
The tourists are the innocent people and they have to lynch the mafiosi and the SK during the day. The mafiosi and the SK each have to kill one tourist each night (in this game, the mafia has one kill each night, regardless of with how many they are. This means that if one mafioso is lynched, the mafia will still have the ability to kill one players each night; the SK has one kill each night. If he dies, then obviously, he will no longer be able to kill). When all mafiosi and the SK are lynched, the tourist win. When all tourist are dead, the tourists lose and either the mafia or the SK will have won.
Each day or night phase will last approximately 24 hours. This may be extended or shortened due to real life circumstances of the host (that's me).
The tourists have to decide during the day by voting who will get lynched. The person with the most votes, will be lynched.
Votes have to be made like this:

When you want to switch your vote, you have to do it like this:
Unvote : Andres ; Vote : Ser Clegane
Please remember to BOLD YOUR VOTES! UNBOLDED VOTES WILL NOT BE COUNTED! No exceptions will be made. Also, REMEMBER TO UNVOTE BEFORE SWITCHING YOUR VOTE; if you forget to unvote, your vote switch will be ignored. DO NOT EDIT YOUR POST TO ALTER YOUR VOTE. IF YOU ALTER YOUR VOTE, YOU NEED TO MAKE A NEW POST.
Notes:
* You're allowed to vote "abstain"; voting "no lynch" will be counted as an abstain vote.
* When a tie is reached at the end of the day, the game host will randomly (as in "completely at random") lynch one of the players in the tie. In short: there will always be a lynch at the end of the day phase.
* regardless of your role, you are supposed to be active in the thread. Severe inactivity (no strict rule, but you can take not posting for 6 RL days in a row as a basic rule) will be dealt with by WoG ("Wrath of God") which basically means that you'll be killed by the host in a most humiliating way.
* If you can no longer play for whatever reason, please inform the host and he'll try to find a replacement. If no replacement can be found, you will be written out of play (honorable suicide).
* Roles of the dead will not be revealed.
* The dead players can keep playing, but they will no longer have a vote nor any night abilities.

I think I'm going to skip the psychiatrist role; I would only implement if for story purposes, but in retrospect, the game doesn't really need it.
I'd like to have some feedback:
- 2 or 3 mafiosi, 2 kills each night (depending on number of sign-ups (2 if sign-ups are equal to or lower than 20; 3 if sign-ups reach 30); kills drop to 1 when a mafioso dies/when 2 mafiosi died;
- 1 serial killer, immune for night kills; 1 kill each night;
Is this balanced enough? Or should I toss in a detective, a doctor or both a detective and a doctor? Personally, I'm thinking perhaps adding 2 doctors to balance it; I don't really like detective roles. I could of course just let the serial killer out and keep it vanilla with 2 or 3 mafiosi with two kills each night, period, but there's something irresistable about a serial killer on an island.

I like the NK immune SK, dislike the psychiatrist, and would offer you this balancing adjustment:
1 of the mafiosi can select another mafiosi besides himself to protect from harm every night, to give the mafia a better shot at surviving the SK.
Should that mafioso die, they're out of luck. For your consideration.
I'd join because your games have always been rich and engaging regardless of how vanilla they are. I think people forget that game hosts tend to make vanilla games the most memorable ones in a given year because of the story quality and atmosphere. Real "mafia" and not all deductive work and night action coordination.

- 27 townies
- That makes 3 scumbags on 30 players.
- SK is alone, it's a hard role, for balance purposes he's immune for night kill;
- Mafia is with two, still hard, but less hard than SK, so not immune for night kill - the SK being immune for NK also means the mafia is able to detect him.
I like the Capo director role; perhaps I should add that in for flavour, but with no protection during night for the Director, just for fun.
I think the game is hard enough as it is for both scum teams like that, a psychiatrist would unbalance it too much in favour of town imo.
The psychiatrist was for story purposes, but I think I can find a way to bring in a psychiatrist into the story...
