Hey everybody.

Way back in ye old days (when you had to walk uphill to the computer through the snow to post) we used to have a lot of succession games here. Basically one person would play the reign of a single monarch (or, in games with more years per turn where a campaign might only last a couple rulers, a set number of turns), post a writeup (could be long stories or just a few sentences stating they conquered Scandinavia and got excommunicated). These could be a lot of fun and were in some ways required a bit less of players than hotseats. You might spend a few hours spread over the course of a week or so on your "reign", and then other players would get the save in succession over the next few weeks. In a long game you might end up with the save a couple times as the list rolled over.

Here's one of the more ambitious succession games that actually inspired me to join the Org so I could play in the Throne Room. Note this one wasn't neccessarily the norm, they can be long or short, with lots of stories or paragraph length reign summaries.

Does anyone else think this could be fun? I was thinking of maybe trying to set one up with Fall of the Samurai or one of the older games like ETW or and MTW2 mod. I'd also be up for trying a non TW game if anyone has suggestions (like maybe EU3 or Crusader Kings 2, or in my wildest dreams one of the old Dawn of War games like Dark Crusade ) and would be willing to buy a new game for it.
