Thumbs up FRONTROOM / BACKROOM 500k and rising.

I was looking at the FRONTROOM / BACKROOM and noticing that they've topped over half a million posts!

Back in the late 90's and earily 2000 the original sword dojo forum program we were using was freeware and it had no way of moderating or modifying posts. So apart from me and Dan as admins there were no mods here. We knew we'd lose control of things fast if there was a lot of off topic stuff going on so we had an unwritten rule that no off topic content was allowed in the dojo. ...Which was all the more tricky because the game wasn't even released yet, but somehow we managed. We all basically just passed time talking about history & tactics and speculated about what STW was going to be like.

I'm sure glad that off topic content eventually made it's way on to the site and became part of the culture here, and to the mods who put in time to view and review those half million posts: sincere appreciation!

I was surprised to see that I created that thread until I read the "Sorry Idaho...". I think I was just responding to Idaho's "You are ALL useless..." thread by creating another controversial discussion.

What happened to that sub-forum? The current Sword Dojo appears to encompass all of the threads from the old 'Game Related' category, and the Japanese History and Cinema forum is just the original name of the Monastery... but I cannot find any of the threads in the Off-Topic section. Were they intentionally wiped or somehow lost during a software change?

Hehe, that is hillarious. That is the version of the board in late 2000. I remember everyone's horror when I chose the baby blue colour scheme, I think there was almost a revol over that.
