The following has been on the back burner for a while, as we preceded through the Shogun trilogy with our standard Clan Wars Competition spring and autumn Classic Battle tournaments (still in progress).

But now looking at a year until returning to Rome, it may be time to trot this puppy out and see if anyone likes the idea, or has any thoughts to help make it better.

First draft: Clan Conquest Competition

Shogun 2 - Classic Battle - map biased – Clan competition, basically using the same principles as the as the in-game Clan Competition map contest, only simplified and more relevant to community growth.

Clans must register for this competition, and maintain an amendable list of all participating members.

A Conquest Map will be created with each province division named for a standard key-building game map.

Any participating Clan member or team of Clan members (two, three or four) can arrange a Classic Battle with anyone online not in their Clan, and in winning that battle get a point credit for each of the enemy players defeated.

The points are reported by submission of a replay titled with; Clan name, map fought, and points earned.

The points will be added to those earned by their particular Clan for that map, and the possession of the related contest province credited to the highest scorer on that map.

Wins on provinces adjacent to any owned at the time of the reported win, receive double points.

Ties on specific provinces will be credited to the earliest reported, with all scores reflected in the ranking positioning roster.

The contest ends when all contest provinces are owned, with the top three wining Clans announced to the public.

The above, if well received could be up and operational in weeks, with Clans starting as soon as they are registered, and their members as soon as they can arrange a battle.

Sound like fun?
