    Default External HDD issues

A couple of years ago I bought two Iomega 250GB HDDs for external storage and backing up my files. They worked perfectly, and still do, except that I now changed my laptop back in April.

Because of new technology and Windows 7, the external HDDs are now pretty much useless because they will not work with modern USB ports. I identified the problem, it's pretty much a voltage issue, as the current USB ports do not supply enough electricity to the HDD to make it connect properly to the port.

How do I make them work? Do charges for external HDDs exist?

Something like this might work. It uses two USB ports- the second one is for additional power.
