why you wager 9 chips on a player that will not be lynched? (I mean, that your bet does not even put him on the lead)

    well that makes sense.

I didnt see that Curio wager 10 chips, so it is enough for him to move them to Chaotix

Even if we were sure GSC is scum we should lynch him with as little an amount of chips as possible just in case he does end up being town and all these townies who piled on him lose all their chips (= voting power). Remember what Pizza said in the rules: It is entirely possible for the Mafia to win without even outnumbering the town. They just need to have more chips than us.

This is gonna be a nightmare for Mr. Pizza to check and double-check.

It's incredible how much scope for last-minute shenanigans there is in this one.

Everyone voting the leader should near the end lower their wagers, but then have to correct to keep him in the lead if he suddenly falls into second or third place.

People are going to be trying to force their co-voters to pay for their favored lynches.

Now this game is a true exercise in cutthroat cruelty and avaricious vigilance.

It's like a stripper balancing a coin between her breasts for as long as she can.

    But the stripper always loses.

I recommend that Pizza make the round-ends unpredictable so as to really up the stakes. Boy, how we'll be scrambling for advantage...

As per the terms of the round, it will end the moment classical_hero posts. However, if he forgets to vote in that post, he may then make an additional post with a vote in it. Otherwise the round is over then. I'm off to work, and I look forward to collecting on your debts.

If you don't start providing at least a little reasoning for sticking so hard with a Day 1 vote you will be my top suspect for tomorrow if Curio flips town.

You haven't minced your words much so far - is that your townie MO?

My 'reasoning' is that I read GSC's first post and decided it smelt scummy. Scummier at least than anything anyone else has posted and nothing subsequent has made me feel any different. The reason for my last post and the lowering of my wager on Curio is that Chaotix is in the lead to get lynched so my bet of 5 was irrelevant. The reason I'm sticking so hard on a day one vote is so that when GSC is lycnhed and flips SCUM, I can pat myself on the back and revel in the newfound respect that you will all have for my sixth sense.

    Anyway - where's your bet?

If your desired lynch is falling slightly behind, Crow, then why not just wait? It's likely that someone could push him over again, no?

According to the theory (assuming constant day-phases), voters should not abandon a losing candidate until the end of the day-phase.

In that case, everyone should pile on the leader at the last-minute just in case he flips scum.

Of course, this would apply to future phases, but even so...

    ****

If I were to raise 10 and you were to raise 10, GSC would return to the lead 43-38 (Chaotix).

However, I'd need to know what's in it for me.

(Pizza, is PMing/networking allowed? Actually, networking in this game is probably far beyond my ability; it would likely strain even Pizza's ingenuity)

I may have to give classical_hero a prod so he votes, or just replace him with the Visorslash. Round will end when one of those things happens.

Also, it is legal to PM people in this game.

Ok, well I hope you won't get mad at me for not risking my chips on your "sixth sense".

    Anyway - where's your bet?
As I've outlined before it is prudent for the town to conserve it's voting power and not lose too many chips in the process of trying to lynch scum.

Curio is going to be lynched probably. I don't find him particularly scummy and it doesn't even need my chips on him so when he dies and flips town we have conserved some chips that would have been wasted on him or someone else who didn't get lynched.

Even if he is not scum, getting rid of people quickly is a good idea. I think now the day can end.
