Repeat Kings will be allowed by that point. But I agree it would be a silly move, giving yourself a clear link to your scum partner so early in the game. You never know though.

We need more votes. MORE DATA
Also bandwagons on crasy makrell is no good.
Bandwagons on anyone is no good. It all comes down to who's head the king wants.
Always meet on the level, act by the plumb and part on the square.

I agree that Makrell should die.
If we are talking about who would make a good King: I would be happiest with Ferret or BSmith (no hard feelings to the rest), because I strongly feel that they would make a well-reasoned decision (and again, that is no slur aimed the rest).
On the other hand, the further the game progresses, the more information there is available to use in coming to a well-reasoned decision.
Moreover, even a mafioso can come to a decision that appears well-reasoned...
I should stop before I descend into post-modernist nonsense. Essentially, the trade-off here is between who do you trust to come to the best decision, and who do you think might be mafia? I would advocate that both King and Kingmaker takes the offered advice of the group as a whole.

I still don't see how anyone could expect useful data to be generated on day 1. All we have to go on at this point is trying to guess who would appoint Monty as King, and that doesn't remotely help us figure out who the mafia is...
Though I suppose we've gained a, probably meaningless, link between edse and Makrell.
Edit: I should learn to refresh the page before posting... This was in response to BSmith.

What link between edse and Makrell?

Well, if the kingmaker has to be townie, then whoever chose Monty is obviously town. I figure Monty being chosen might have something to do with him being the champion. Who wants to play Chase the Tangent with me?
If I read Monty correctly, he also will not cut himself up about being forced to make an essentially random choice either. He seems to live for chaos.

In all seriousness, Montmorency, did you have a reason for your vote?

I am not asking in a perjorative sense. The more data we have the better the situation we are in. If Monty acted without a reason, I am hardly going to crucify him: it's day 1. If, however, he had a reason, it would add to the amount of information the rest of us have to work with, if he were to share it.
Of course, there are problems with honesty and what have you, but I believe that being honest would not hinder him whether he is town or mafia. Given that I choose to believe that he will be honest...

Not really.
He was last to enter the scene, maybe?

Well that's the last time I try and provide data.
This is the trouble with posting a lot on day 1, it just draws attention to you. Meanwhile the likes of Choxorn and Ibn-Khaldun can lurk their way along completely unnoticed.
M'lord, I propose a Vote choxorn and Ibn-Khaldun in the near future if they don't post a lot.
(also that goes for every other townie btw including me)
