Did anyone else observe the same behaviour?

If i send a unit of Phalangitai marching over the battlefield, their standard bearers (the guys on the far left of the formation carrying the huge sign reading PEZOI... or GEZOI? The initial looks more like a capital Gamma than a capital Pi, but as far as my knowledge goes, the proper term is pezoi) are marching quite a bit slower than the main body of troops.

This isn't that much a problem, but if this poor soldier gets caught by a bypassing enemy unit all alone (and does not die fast enough in the process!), it may hamper the whole unit's movement and disrupt my carefully developed battle plan
