The "thunder bombers" are very entertaining to watch. It was fun to run them up to the wall of a castle and have them lob the bombs inside.

I think the novelty may wear off fast, though. Their aim is terrible and you don't want to use them if you have any of your troops anywhere near their front. They also seem to be quite fumble-fingered and they often drop bombs with lit fuses at their own feet. On my first attempt at using them, I think the "friendly fire" butcher's bill exceeded the enemy kills!

Well i may as well put in my two bobs worth on th new units

    Mongols

Mongol Heavy Cav - like has been said elsewhere they are virtually indestructible
Mongol Light Cav - Far supurier to cavb arch in many ways. These are like a combo xcav, exceptional speed and good attack plus the ability to fire arrows makes this unit my instant fave. At last cav run the way the should
Korean Spearman - hmm suspect. they seem to be stuck halfway between YS and YA, dodgy morale methinks but half decent cav stoppers
Korean Guardsmen - not as good as nags defensively but faster and a lot more punch pound for pound
Korean Skirmishers - Mmmmm. For me the susprise delight of the expansion. Sheilds have the ability to take arrow fire with *reduced* casualties and they carry javelins . 1 volley of javelins at a charging dachi can kill 10+ easily making these guys very effective skirmishers (hence the name) to put in front of them thunderbombers
Thunder Bombers - hmm. only 3 grenades each and deployed normally in 20 man units. NEVER EVER let these guys fire in rows of 3 or more as the back guys WILL KILL the front 3 rows. these things are very short range but devastating. in the mongol historic campaign my 120unit size fired at point blank range a single volley of grenades into a unit of 120 YS and reduced that unit to 11 men. A godsend when it comes to taking castles and almost as valuable when attacking and defending bridges

    Japanese

Ashigaru Crossbowmen - im unsure bout these guys. they seem just like arques without the morale penalty. undecided
Kensai - OMG. how funny it is to rush 8 of these tooled up with armour and weapon upgrades across a bridge. These little guys are awesome and make great taishos. A single dachi unit will kill him but only after he gets tired, if the Kensai aint tired he wont die. Use em for flanking as nobody will see him comin
Battlefield Ninja - Come in neat 12 size units. Pain in the arse to fight against these guys disappear even in the plains of totomi. Ideal for flanking and springing susprise rear attacks on the enemy, they also carry ammo, and lots of it
Naginata Cavalrymen - Not as strong defensively as the heavy cav. Lacks the ranged attack of cav arch. lacks the speed of yari cav. More than makes up for it with its incredible ability to punch thru units. the `F1` screen in battle is still bugged and displays 0 for attack but im pretty certain this has the best attack of all the japanese cav (with yari scond, then heavy) I would guess an attack of around 6 for this unit. Ditch the heavy and buy this a steal at 450 kokus

Drill Dojo - hmmm. makes routing men rally faster but what else?

    1 last thing
and this is the mongol invasions big failing point
who the f**k came up with the nagis new icon
    i mean come on
    its feckin mingin
    me like the old one
    patch it
    and fast

Guys, seems I miss something here, so I gotta open the door again
to write something short here. 8-)
Ahhhh, I sent my wife and my kid go to my wife's mother home
already, now no one cook for me. LOL

    Maps
Yes, seems all old maps can play very well under Add-On.
As I said, I test all units on the old fine nice flat map, GREEN.

I installed all maps that made by other great players and mark
these files as "Read Only", so I know which map came from game,
    which made by other players.

I just install the Add-On over the old one(Patched 1.12), then
    start play it. No problems.

    System

Shogun English Full inatalled with patched 1.12
    Shogun MI Add-On 1.00

    OS,
    MS-Windows 98 Second Edition

    PC,
AsusTek P3B-F Mainboard (Intel BX chipsets)
    Intel Pentium III-700 (Not overclocking)
    384MB PC-100 SDRAM
    32GB IBM UltraATA-66 HDD
Matrox G400 with 32MB SGRAM AGP Video card
Sound Blaster SB Live! PCI Sound Card with 4 speakers
Adaptec AHA2940U Ultra SCSI PCI Card
    Plextor 32X SCSI CD-ROM

    MS-Natural Keyboard Pro
    MS-IntelliMouse with Wheel PS/2 Mouse

    ADSL 512/64 Connection

Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 700 17" Monitor with BNC connection

    DirectX,
This game came with MS-DirectX 8.0a runtime on CD.

    But,

    I am using MS-DirectX 8.1 Beta Build 648. 8-) (4.08.01.0648)

I test another 3v3 custom games again, no problems, fight
to end and fight to dead.

Yes, this game run very smooth under my system.

By the way, guys, turn the sound to max then listen them...
The Mongol army are talking Chinese. LOL

    "Se Gi Ya" means "Shooting"!
    "Kon Gi" means "Attack"!

    Didn't notice the Retreat yet ..... 8-)

    See you guys soon .....

I also notcied that there are some few bugs in the game. Only in few maps.
Well a player droped and 1 of my units were helping him before he droped in a battle. After he droped I couldnt get my guys out of that melee. tried everything but they got stucked there.

And on another map of the expack ,twice on the same spot, without beeing in a fight (only gun battle) my gen gets killed within 2 mins.
The strength of my arms, the power of my soul, the valour of my men... These all belong to the Fear Clan. I'm ready to fight in the name of the clan.

    Michael,

I didn't play the Full Campaign yet, still testing units.
But I notice, the Add-On seems has some minor problems about
voice. Such as, in a custom battle, I kill enymy general, yes
I saw message show that like b4, but didn't hear any voice with.

And, about the Throne Room, did you check the option?

    "Options Menu"
    "Game"
    then,
check the "Throne Room" option. It's disable by default, so you
may need check it to enable it.

    DarthGuru,

I am sorry, didn't play any on-line battle yet. 8-)
So have no idea about the lag or anything else. I will try it
after the European m8s got it already. Should be at end of Aug
or Sept. You may ask Yuuki, Kra or Fucy, they seems start play
    on-line games.

    See you guys soon .....

    DarthGuru,

My impression after a several 1v1, a 2v2 and a 3v3 is that performance is about the same as Shogun v1.12. The 3v3 was so slow that we quit, but birds were enabled and I don't know what everyone was using for a machine. The host had a fast connection with LAT to me of 100. The 1v1's and 2v2 played fine. I think the drops are still a problem because the battle database already has 9 games "playing" out of 27 comp games played in the last 2 days.

    Hi again, Michael,

I just clear 2 things up,

If you play Mongol part, then,

1, You may meet some message without voice. Such as I just said,
kill enemy general but got message no voice.
I think, maybe they can't get enough Chinese voice clips into
this game, so they just let them quiet. 8-)

2, Mongol part no Throne Room can sit and enjoy the geisha. 8-)
Mongol use kibitka, seems the Add-On didn't do this yet. 8-)

    Yoko,

Yes, I do check these voce files in sub folders and listen them. They are Interesting. 8-)

You are right if you set the voice to English. But seems can't get such voice with message while you set voice to Japanese and play Mongol part.

Hey, did the Strategy school actually make it into the X-Pack? Or did they only put in the Drill Dojo?

No, only the drill dojo is in the game. If there is a strategy school, i haven't seen it.

And to further confirm: yes, the Mongols have battlefield and strategy map voices.

Thanks Guys for clear something up. 8-)

    But,
Please help me to check this,

    In the Game Options menu,
    "Options"
    "Audio"
    then,
    "Speech", please select "Japanese".
    And,
Play a custom game, you must select "Mongol" side, let
    AI(Computer) select "Japan" side.
Can you hear any voice with message during battle? Such
as you kill Japanese General, then, should show a message
with voice to tell you that.

In my testing, I can not hear any voice with message while
my "Speech" option set to "Japanese" and play Mongol side.
(Play Japanese side no such problems)

If my "Speech" option set to "English", yes, no problems
    at all.

    Thanks. 8-)
