Logfile Reader by Widda

Widda, a known member of the Shogun community, has made a Logfile reader very similar to Maggy's but with a new presentation etc.

We were talking on ICQ and I was supposed to distribute it.

I have found one bug already, with the calc of army koku value when viewing SP campaign logs with your Daimyo in it. The Array where I stored the Koku values for each army type is missing Daimyo values, I have added it and I am using HC values for it. Also added unit strength and honor to the display on the image like in game. Ie number of soldiers and the unit honor. I'll try to figure out the Taisho bonuses for all levels and add it to this honor display soon. With any luck I'll get the display of Armor and Weapon upgrades on the unit image also by tomorrow morning and send the release to Terazawa..

If anyone knows the bonuses to honor from taisho rank, could you post them here thanx. I know The Black Ship has taken the time to get a Taisho to level 9.

I've always thought the Taisho honor bonus is the rank divided by two, rounded down. Therefore, rank 0 & 1 is 0, rank 2 & 3 is 1, rank 4 & 5 is 2 etc. If it's not this, then what? Does the rumoured "fractional honor" exist after all?

That's what I've always believed too. It certainly is what is displayed in the game.

Every second rank increase gives an increase of 1 honour to all troops under that Taisho's command. There's nothing I have ever seen to cause me to believe in any kind of 'fractional honour'.

forgive my ignorance as i cannot download this as i'm at work just now and also have never used a logfile before.

am i correct in saying after a battle in multiplayer i can see how much koku my opponent spent and the breakdown of enemy unit types and honour?

Hach you are correct it does show you the amount of koku spent, units selected, the honour of each unit, the amount of freindly kills, the amounts of kills for each unit and amount of units lost.

get one of those white screens with lots of writing saying check your settings.

download khans and that seems great anyway.
does it automatically record every battle file or do i have to activate it somehow.

how exactly do these work.
i got widdas and khan logfile readers.
can i use both at the same time?
can i use these on custom battles or just multiplayer?

and where do i retrieve the log files from?

Look in your C: drive (if that's where you store STW). There is a directory called 'log files' (where do those freaks come up with these wacky names!?)

Widda, Magyar... I haven't used either of your readers - fight to death and I will use the winners logfile reader.

There is an option menu screen to turn on logfiles. They are in a subdirectory called 'logfiles' off of the main Shogun directory. You do get logfiles for all battles: campaign, custom and multiplayer.

The log files can be found in the directory

C:/Program Files/Total War/logfiles

It is just a program that reads them. They can be used in all battles, multi, custom, campaign and evem tutorial.

Widda's doesn't read tutorial ones though.
